First time to visit Bangkok, I choosed Grande Ville Hotel, Bangkok. I think, It's a good located because just take a mintues to Chaina Town with a good china food and sight seeing at a famous of Bangkok as Grand Place, Emmeral Buddha etc. Staff was friendly and helpful during trip at Bangkok. I got room on the top floor. It's a good views. I was very happy with our stayed at Grande Ville Hotel, Bangkok
Plenty to do in the area.
Didn't get to use the pool or spa but they both looked great.
Majority of the staff were really nice and helpful.
Food in the restaurant was very average, but the view from the Rooftop restaurant was good and the sunset was awesome.
It was really annoying that every time you wanted to change money at reception, they had to take a copy of your passport - which was a pain in the ass when you had it kept in their safety deposit boxes because you had to go through the sign out/in process again.
The internet was expensive.
Unique Quality: Located in the heart of Chinatown, it was close to Khao San Road, the Chattuchak markets and MBK shopping centre.
Hotel is pretty old and lacks luxury. But heck, it's cheap and the service is friendly. The breakfast is rather crappy. But all in all, it's not too bad for its price and Chinatown is within walking distance. The flower market is also just down the road.
You can book a full-day tour to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and other attractions with the receptionist for around 1000baht. He/She will probably offer a higher price, so try to bargain it down to about 1000baht.
Directions: Bring along a hotel card and show it to the taxi. Many don't seem to know this hotel. If you pronounce it, it should be something like 'GRAN-DEY VILL'....
