Rooms are very standard, nothing special.
    Breakfast buffet = terrible
    Good and friendly service
    Swimming pool, spa etc.

Unique Quality: Very close to a lot of shopping areas

    Average Hotel Accomodation

    by

The room itself wasn't too bad, clean, comfortable bed, good aircon and big enough, smell was ok as well. The service was excellent, our 2 sons were in a different room which wreaked of cigarette smoke when we got there, I complained about it and they gave us another room which was closer to ours, no problem at all. The included breakfast was of a poor standard, typical American style, plenty of it, just a poor standard. The hallways smelt of old carpet and musty, but our 2 rooms were fine, good water pressure and hot shower.

Unique Quality: Location, location, location, this motel is right on top of a great shopping arcade and across the road from the largest clothing market in Bangkok, absolutely huge, everything on offer. 7-11 across the road, plenty of food halls in nearby shopping centres and a few good restaurants nearby as well, money exchange, ATM's and fast food nearby also. For the price it is ok for a few nights, but no longer.

    Good shopping!

    by

Stayed at Indra last Nov 2007 for 5 days... if you want shopping, this is the place to stay..rooms and prices are ok..there are jsut three disadvantages: 1. Breakfast is buffet, but the menu is the same everyday; 2. Far from BTS..nearest is around 20-30 minutes away... it takes thsi long to get to the station partly becasue it is so crowded downstairs, it takes time to walk towards the station; 3. taxi? yup, there are many, but the street is one way..away from most places you may want to go to.. so best advice is to go to platinum mall area and take a taxi from there.

Perfectly located next to Pratunam markets

    by

Whenever I am in Bangkok I like to stay in the Pratunam area because of the Pratunam markets, the Platinum wholesale mall, Plantip computer mall, and closeness to Central World Trade center, MBK, Siam Paragon etc. The Indra Regent is wonderfully located for this. The rooms are generally nice & clean but the bathrooms can show a bit of wear as the hotel shows its age. It also has a mall connected to it which I find is the best place to buy a suit case!

Unique Quality: Try the Sala Thai restaurant for some classical Thai dance entertainment.

    smelss, stinks

    by

I do not understand how people stay in this hotel. It stinks, the humidity is all over the place. After a grandious lobby the rooms are not uptodate, the AC makes a noise.....
The location is good if you are looking for 2 $ t-shirts and cheap souvenirs. I would not recommend it to anyone. Better go to another newer hotel.

Unique Quality: good locations for those of you that like to be in the middle of the "cheap souvenir shop" .
The stuff speaks excellent english. When exiting the hotel there are many people offering you several services, massage, taxis, drivers....

    Good Location For Shopping

    by

Indra Regent is famous for its location. Located in the heart of Pratunam shopping center, and just a few walks from the big malls and restaurants.

The facade may look a litte bit rundown but the interiors and rooms are just fine.

Spacious lobby, nice restaurants, medium size pool and of course it is adjacent to the indra regent shooping center.

Would definitely recommend this hotel for those who plan to come and visit Bangkok just make sure you have your booking atleast 1 month before the inended travel coz its usually fully book.

    A good budget choice

    by

I thought I'd try somewhere other than Sukhumvit to stay on this trip (Dec 2006) and I found the Indra Regent had rooms for 28 pounds a night through BA Holidays - a very good deal for peak season. The hotel is right in the middle of the Pratunam garment district - the ground floor of the hotel itself is a shopping centre mostly dealing in cheap clothes. It's some way to the nearest Skytrain stop, but other than that the location of the hotel is pretty good - just a short walk away from the huge Central World Mall and the Big C hypermarket.

The hotel itself is a nice 3-star place - a comfortable room (slight traffic noise but not enough to keep me awake), BBC World on the TV - free tea and coffee as well, but on the negative side there was a stupidly overpriced minibar (head to the nearby 7-11 for snacks and drinks). A good place to stay, as long as the price is right - note that as with other Bangkok hotels it's usually cheaper to use an agent than to book direct.

Directions: Pratunam district, north of the Central World mall.

    Indra Regent

    by

The hotel looks old on the outside and it is situated in the Pratunam area which is the shopping/wholesale district for clothes and garments.

On my first night I got the room on the 11th floor, it was not bad, but a bit musty. The 2nd time, after returning from Pattaya got a room on the 12th floor. Room is clean and looks new, refurbished.

Unique Quality: The adult pool is too small and is quite crowded in the afternoon. The kids pool is more like a bathtub, just slightly bigger, so the kids all have to go to the adults pool.

The tiles around the pool is slippery, making going in out hard and holding on to the sides difficult. This is also the same for the pool in the hotel in Pattaya.

    Directions: very near Baiyoke tower....

  • Very impressed

    by

Stayed at the indra regent twice years ago and vowed never to go back. However budget wise I was only going to be there 4 nights. I was upgraded to a Junior suite and it was heaven compared to some of the hotels I stayed in Bali. I had a beautiful bathroom with corner bath all new fittings. The only complaint was that the a/c was playing up. That was fixed but could have been better. Room service was spot on. I can highly recommend this hotel as I usually stay at the Amari Watergate. So if you can get a Junior Suite you wont be disappointed. This hotel has defintely improved since my last visit. I can only say nice things and I will be going back.

Unique Quality: Booked in for breakfast every morning . What a choice too many to mention and variety to suit every tourist no matter where you came from. Staff very nice and service good.

    Poor Location

    by

The hotel was old & not very comfortable. The location was in a very congested shoppind district. We took pedicabs to the sights & to the beautiful waterfront with floating market. The hotel & surrounding area offered little to tourists.

i just came back from bkk last night and i stayed at baiyoke (pratunam area) and i had no problems whatsoever with safety. shops are still open, although some are closed for a few days due to songkran holidays. i still saw the red shirts passing by here and there but it's still pretty much safe.
