    Good Location For Shopping

Indra Regent is famous for its location. Located in the heart of Pratunam shopping center, and just a few walks from the big malls and restaurants.

The facade may look a litte bit rundown but the interiors and rooms are just fine.

Spacious lobby, nice restaurants, medium size pool and of course it is adjacent to the indra regent shooping center.

Would definitely recommend this hotel for those who plan to come and visit Bangkok just make sure you have your booking atleast 1 month before the inended travel coz its usually fully book.

    A good budget choice

I thought I'd try somewhere other than Sukhumvit to stay on this trip (Dec 2006) and I found the Indra Regent had rooms for 28 pounds a night through BA Holidays - a very good deal for peak season. The hotel is right in the middle of the Pratunam garment district - the ground floor of the hotel itself is a shopping centre mostly dealing in cheap clothes. It's some way to the nearest Skytrain stop, but other than that the location of the hotel is pretty good - just a short walk away from the huge Central World Mall and the Big C hypermarket.

The hotel itself is a nice 3-star place - a comfortable room (slight traffic noise but not enough to keep me awake), BBC World on the TV - free tea and coffee as well, but on the negative side there was a stupidly overpriced minibar (head to the nearby 7-11 for snacks and drinks). A good place to stay, as long as the price is right - note that as with other Bangkok hotels it's usually cheaper to use an agent than to book direct.

Directions: Pratunam district, north of the Central World mall.

    Indra Regent

The hotel looks old on the outside and it is situated in the Pratunam area which is the shopping/wholesale district for clothes and garments.

On my first night I got the room on the 11th floor, it was not bad, but a bit musty. The 2nd time, after returning from Pattaya got a room on the 12th floor. Room is clean and looks new, refurbished.

Unique Quality: The adult pool is too small and is quite crowded in the afternoon. The kids pool is more like a bathtub, just slightly bigger, so the kids all have to go to the adults pool.

The tiles around the pool is slippery, making going in out hard and holding on to the sides difficult. This is also the same for the pool in the hotel in Pattaya.

    Directions: very near Baiyoke tower....

  • Very impressed

Stayed at the indra regent twice years ago and vowed never to go back. However budget wise I was only going to be there 4 nights. I was upgraded to a Junior suite and it was heaven compared to some of the hotels I stayed in Bali. I had a beautiful bathroom with corner bath all new fittings. The only complaint was that the a/c was playing up. That was fixed but could have been better. Room service was spot on. I can highly recommend this hotel as I usually stay at the Amari Watergate. So if you can get a Junior Suite you wont be disappointed. This hotel has defintely improved since my last visit. I can only say nice things and I will be going back.

Unique Quality: Booked in for breakfast every morning . What a choice too many to mention and variety to suit every tourist no matter where you came from. Staff very nice and service good.

    Poor Location

The hotel was old & not very comfortable. The location was in a very congested shoppind district. We took pedicabs to the sights & to the beautiful waterfront with floating market. The hotel & surrounding area offered little to tourists.

    Old and great location

I like the great location of this 35 years old hotel. I have a beautiful room on the 14 th floor, bathroom is only adequate. Beautiful pool with view of the marvelous thai restaurant. Indra square is just reopened and offer a large choice of clothes, Pratunam market is waliking, also Pantip Plaza for DVD, CD and computer is waliking.

Unique Quality: Great location in Pratunam, nice pool

    Indra Regent Hotel

Have stayed at the Indra every year for the past seven years. The hotel does not look like much from the outside but is very nice inside. The rooms are large and pretty modern. Hotel has a number of restaurants and the Cocktail bar is a favourite place of mine relaxing in the comfortable chairs enjoying happy hour. Pool is quite nice but could use a touch up. The hotel also has a great authentic Thai restaurant in a Thai teak house. In the restaurant they serve each guest with a tray of food and there is a Thai dancing show towards the end of the evening.

The best part of the hotel is the location you walk out the front door and you are facing Pratunam Markets. Only a short walk away is Pantip Plaza, World Trade Centre, Gaysorn Plaza. Walk a little further to Siam Discovery Centre and MBK Shopping Mall. Hotel very popular particularly with Australians. The hotel is also easy to locate anywhere in the city as it is in front of the tallest building in Bangkok Baiyoke Sky Hotel.

Unique Quality: You feel comfortable in the hotel.

    Central Bangkok Accomodation

Stayed there twice now and will do so again. Accomodation was all we needed, but the service and welsome was great. Chandalier Bar is a must to wind down at the end of the day. The pool is OK with good poolside service. Can't comment on the resturants as we ate out and about. Getting past Mr Holiday and his friends at the front door is fun, but they aren't a bad option if you want a car for the day. Not expensive and very helpful.

Unique Quality: Sala Thai does a great show (complimentary) and the Chandalier Bar is great. Lovely waitresses do a very good Irish Coffee (also complimentary).

Directions: Pratunam Market next door, Baiyoke Tower around the corner, World Trade Centre and Siam Centre only 10 minutes walk. Very good seafood resturant opposite Pratunam or on adjoining block.

  • Bangkok Value

Stayed here (in 2 rooms) for 4 nights over New Year 2005. Good value for money, clean, comfortable, and roomy. No hot water in 1 room for last 2 nights and couldn't get anyone to really care - at checkout when we informed reception that the problem hadn't been fixed it was as if they were hearing about it for the 1st time - but it's almost impossible to get frustrated or angry with Thais so why make a fuss. I would use this hotel again. Great location for shopping, and some good eating to be found if you look hard enough. Forget about the tuk-tuk's at the front door they only want to take you to shops which pay them commission (don't blame them for trying to make a living but meter taxis are far better).

Directions: Pratunam District - clothing market. Close to World Trade Centre.

    Good Value & Good Location

A good value hotel. Certainly not the fanciest but then you pay for what you get. I've been to Bangkok a couple of times and found this location to be great if you like just watching people go about their daily business. They have a great street level lounge/bar from which you can just sit for hours and watch the world go by. The hotel is situated ideally for cheap shopping. The streetside markets and the Pratunam markets are just amazing. Don't miss taking a trip up to the observation deck of the Baiyoke Skytower which is located very close by.

Overall I found the staff to be very friendly, the breakfast quite good and the room comfortable. The pool area (pictured) is not too bad. From a value for money viewpoint, this hotel is a real winner!

    Indra Regent Hotel

We spent five nights in total at the Indra Regent Hotel (4 nights at once then a single night a few days later). It is a very nice hotel and the staff were all very friendly. One annoying thing though is the tour desk lady downstairs who seemed to call us every single morning at 7 am whether we had a tour or not...something we didn't enjoy at all...

Unique Quality: The rooms are big and comfortable, the restaurants are nice and the shopping nearby and in the Indra Regent building is great!

    Shopping district/Market area Hotel

This is a great place to stay if you want somewhere that really is somewhere to sleep and is central.
Sure its older, but I have found it clean, very friendly and courteous staff, good restaurants/bars, a very good Thai Cultural night experiance, and the location is great.

Its also well within walking distance of Pantzip Plaza, the air-rail system (I forget its name, sorry) and other hotels to link up with fellow travelers/friends.the shopping area that is in the same buiilding housaes a postoffice, department store etc as well as many tailors and other stalls, even a food hall of sorts.

I do recomend it, after all, do we go on holiday to sit in a hotel room and drool/admire it? I think not, or at least I don't.

Unique Quality: Central, Cultural show, Pool, wonferful massage service (I do recomend this) and reasonably priced

Directions: bang in the middle of the Pratanum Market area

  • Great value for money

The Indra Regent is a popular choice for Kiwi's, and it is easy to see why. Great value accommodation in a great location - the heart of the Pratunam markets. We found the staff to be friendly, and the rooms spacious for a 3 & 1/2 star hotel. The buffet breakfast on the Garden Terrace had something for everyone. Although the pool area was smallish there never seemed to be many people there so getting a deck chair was not a problem. My husband used the inhouse gym and found it reasonably well stocked for a hotel gym. Try the watermelon juice, it is fantastic, especially delivered to you by the pool! A lot of packages will also give you the free Sala Thai dinner and show which is a great way to meet fellow travellers and see a little of the culture.

Unique Quality: Sala Thai dinner and show, good location near the markets.

    Directions: Pratunam shopping district

    Great location, Great service.

When I turned up at this hotel, my heart sunk. I asked myself, what the hell had I booked??? It certainly looked pretty run down...but looks can be deceptive.
I would most definately recommend this hotel. Its in a great location, the rooms are clean, and the service cant be faulted.
If ever I find myself again in Bangkok, I would look no further than the Indra Regent.

    Directions: central location
