    Wild Orchid Villa

We did not stay there...but I will next time! It is off a side street, very close to Khao San road. They have many choices of rooms, from 250 baht up to 850. Most of the rooms have air con and en-suite bathrooms. There is a great restaurant with a huge patio, great for people watching and hanging out. There food is a little on the pricey side, but many other choices just a step away. There decor is great, and since it is on a side street, not too noicey/ There is a really great spa on the opposite side of the street, a couple buildings down~ highly recommended, we went there several times.

Unique Quality: Great location, good value, nice decor.

Directions: Banglampoo Banglampoo (Khao San Road) Bangkok 10200
The website comes up very slow even with high speed, but worth the wait since it has great pictures of the rooms and the hotel.

    Not such a bad place

i stayed here for only one night but i am not such a big fan of Khao San Road, way to touristic and way to expensive. I payed 500 baht for a decent side of room with an attached bathroom and television and airco.

  • great budget accomodation

Crashed here after a long flight from sydney , showed up at midnite and reception was still open so gota twin room , was sharin that cost 700 baht but you can get singles for 350 baht and you get air con and tv and ensuite for that
Was really nice for the price , clean towels etc

Unique Quality: Right bang in the centre of Ko San Road
Great pool on the roof to chill after too many buckets of Samsung !!

One of the many places on Koh San...not bad though

Typical accommodation on Koh San...a couple flights of stairs up and down a not bad, not spacious but enough for a couple packs....seemed secure.
A double cost $380baht/night....nothing special but nothing wrong with it either...close to the 7/11 and central on the street without being too loud....EXCEPT....the Thai government has decided that 7:45 every morning will be announcements followed by the 8AM national anthem....I think they may be doing it to ward off the backpackers staying/mingling and generally causing havoc at all hours of the day. ....funny what the Thais do other place in Thailand have I heard this early morning ritual.

Unique Quality: Bag storage the day you are leving for $.40 B per pack...not bad...laundry around the corner...well everywhere....variety store close, as is the Irish bar/restaurant across the street. Not too loud, but not quiet and serene by any strech of the imagination.
Was able to get a room at about 9 in the morning when we first inquired...basically walked in and paid for the one night....they let us check in right away....ended up staying another night. Bye Bye bangkok.
    I stay there again though.

Directions: About half way up Koh San....right beside one of the 7/11's....a small little walkway lead up to the front desk. actually I think the rooms are above the store.

  • Backpackers gathering

Khao San Road as well as the sois radiating from it is a backpacker center. Stay there for cheap rooms, convenient money exchange, easy internet access and overseas call. Grand Palace is in walking distance away. But it's far removed from the city center. The easiest public transportation is to take a ferry boat down Chao Phraya River then change to BTS skytrain. Airport Bus 2 takes you directly from airport to Khao San Rd.

Check out the website. You'll get much information

    A solid place

Stayed three nights at the Khao San Palace. Solid place. AC, TV, and workable showers. Located on Khao San Road, which is full of fellow backpackers, and lively night market. Hotel runs about $9 USD per night. Set back from the street, so suitably quiet.

    For Budget Travelers

Khao San Road is the area packed with loads of guesthouses -- cheap ones. The price tells the quality of the place. It starts from 2- 20 USD, approx.

Additionally, the area is not far from the Grand Palace and quite a few other major temples.

Unique Quality: Khao San is a backpacker scene where Thais hang out. Since there are several restaurants, bars and clubs, you can find many locals hang out here every day, specially Fris -Sats.

I think this place is unique. How many places that you can bump into people from all over the world in just one evening.

Directions: Every taxi driver knows Khao San Road.

Reasonable prices for nice and clean rooms

We had a very pleasant stay here. This has also to do with the fact that there is a small swimmingpool on the rooftop. The roof offers a great view over Bangkok.

The cold swimmingpool has been a welcome surprise in the dirty, hot and dusty street of Khao San Road. The wind on the roof created a nice temperature and we relaxed on the free sunbeds.

When you are looking for a bit luxury (warm water, airco, t.v. and so on) against a reasonable price you are at the right address here!

Unique Quality: Airco, hot and cold water. around the corner, airco, satelite television. Small swimming pool on the roof wich offers a great view. Nice and clean rooms with good beds. A security guard out front.
Coin laundry service, money changer, Internet cafe in the alley in front of the hotel. Supermarket 7/11 around the corner. No streetnoice from Khao San Road because it's in the alley , but still only 25 metres away from the street.

Directions: Walk from Police Station up Khao San Road. It' s on the left maybe 150m up, in the alley just before the 7-11.

    Sleep on the Cheap

Khao San Rd is the backpackers mecca. Every sort of character your mom ever told you to stay away from stays here. Crime and pollution is high, but so is the fun. There are too many places to stay along Khao San to name. You will never have a problem getting accommodation here, even in the high season. You might not be able to get the exact room you want, but there will always be a bed. The biggest reason to stay here is the price. It is insanely cheap; you can easily find 150 Baht beds... thats less than $4USD.

Definitely ask to see the room before you pay, though, because some can be a figgin' disaster area.

    Relaxed hotel with pool

The room is clean and good. You don't hear much of the noise outside.

There are rooms available with airco or fan. You can choose between a room with a hot or cold shower, with or without tv.

The facilities are good for the price.

Unique Quality: This hotel has a swimming pool on the roof! You can find it at the sixth floor.

Directions: Khao San Rd, one of the most touristic streets in Bangkok.

    Backpackers guesthouses

The place to be for world's backpackers: cheap accomodation, a lively atmosphere and a great place to meet other travelers!
It's not far away from the major tourist attractions.

I didn't stay there, just walked around for an evening.

    Khao San Palace

The Khao San Palace is a great place to stay in Khao San Road. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy and the ensuite bathroom/shower is great, hot and cold water, aircon and TV with satellite channels. Plus its right next to a 7/11, bonus.
For a two-bed room we paid 500 Baht. It's down a short alley with a money changer, Internet cafe and a security guard out front. Because it's not right on KSR you don't get any street noise, and yet the street is only about 20m away. Location is from Police Station walk up KSR and it's on the left maybe 150m up, just before the 7-11. Highly recommended.

Expensive, Noisy, and NO Electric Socket!!!

Expensive place! Not only in Khao San Road standard, but also more expensive than other hostels among Bangkok. I couldn't find a clean place to sleep when I arrived Khao San Road at 1:30am in the morning, all the better rooms were occupied. I paid 650 Bhat for a double room here, without toilet papers, no towels, and most amazing thing is: no electric socket in the room. I have to climed up the table, unplug the TV (which is hang up on ceiling) in order to charge my camera batteries. Obviously they don't want customer to charge their electric appliances!
