Bangkok's Most Fabulous Hote
by all_about_eve about Lebua
I stayed in Lebua for four days with two friends. We booked a standard room via the hotel's website but were upgraded to a junior suite. Everything was simply perfect: the spacious rooms, delicious breakfasts, location, helpful staff and the fab bar on the roof. It's a heavenly place.
Luxury retreat after a phrenetic day in Bangkok

The Lebua is a fantastic 5* hotel great accomodation of suites, lounge bathroom kitchen area bedroom and balcony in a good position for the river boats and the skytrain station at Taksin enabling you to get about Bangkok with ease. The staff are very helpful and plentiful and always on hand to help. Breakfast buffet is included. Sirrocco restaurant The Dome on the roof is over rated and very expensive but worth while going up just to have a look. Breeze restaurant is very nice. I would definitely stay here again and was well worth the money. Facitilities are great

Lebua offers an exquisite and eclectic selection of restaurants and bars, better known as the Dome at lebua, which is a culinary dream even for connoisseurs. Be it Mediterranean, Italian, Asian, Indian or Lebanese, the best restaurants and bars in Bangkok congregate at lebua. All restaurants and bars provide an unmatched experience with truly personalized service that never makes you wonder anymore, where to eat in Bangkok.
The signature restaurants at lebua include Sirocco, the world's highest open air restaurant, Mezzaluna, Breeze, Distil, Ocean 52 and Café Mozu. Also, the Lobby lounge at lebua provides delightful snacks, drinks and afternoon tea.
The stunning, multi-hued Sky bar at Sirocco has several reasons to turn minutes into timeless moments. Suspended in the sky on the 63rd floor of The Dome at State Tower, the Skybar is one of the world's highest open air bars, overlooking a panoramic view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya river. With such an enthralling ambience coupled with a seductive selection of the finest vintages, beverages, cocktails and appetizers in Bangkok, the Skybar soars as one of the prized destinations in the city. No wonder, the rooftop bar is unanimously accepted as the coolest bar in Bangkok.

Very good food - best view
by FilipDemuinck about The Breeze at Lebua
Our favourite restaurant in Bangkok is the Breeze. You enjoy good gourmet dining specialised in seafood. You enter the open-air restaurant via a coloured glass bridge on the 53rd floor. At the end of the bridge you find a glass pyramid. The view of the city during diner is breathtaking. I would recommend this restaurant for its high quality gourmet dining and the enchanting ambience.

Nice hotel...great rate!
by TripAdvisor Member PDXviajero
We enjoyed our stay at Lebua. We spent three nights at the hotel and it was very pleasant. The staff was courteous and accomodating. Our initial room was on the 25th floor, but following a request for a higher floor we were promptly moved to the 56th floor (room #5609). The rooms are very large and comfortable. The Bvlgari ammenties are a nice touch and the beds are comfortable. As for the balcony, a simple phone call and a staff memeber appeared to unlock the doors. Shortly after that a bottle of wine and chocloates appeared "with compliments" from the manager. Mr. Joyce is very nice and welcoming to guests' comments.
I would agree that the lobby is not impressive. Keep in mind that this hotel is in transition, so give it some times to work out the kinks. I made several recommendations to the manager, as well as many compliments. If this hotel wants to be in serious contention with the other top hotels in Bangkok, it will have to do additional small things (rotating buffet menu, lobby improvement, fully-stocked mini-bar, free juices in the gym, cold towels and welcome drinks, etc). But I think these things will happen at Lebua.
We would return to Lebua, especially considering what we paid. Our rate was US$90 a night INCLUDING tax and breakfast! That is a steal. We booked it on Hotelclub.
As I have said in my previous comments, my favorite hotel in BKK is still the Metropolitan. It blends service, chic/comfortable rooms and luxury all into one very attractive package. In terms of bang for your Dollar (or Baht, if you will), Lebua is an excellent choice, however.
This is the best!

I stayed at Lebua for 5 days in August. It was absolutely fantastic. The room (a suite) was very spacious, squeaky clean and the bathroom was fabulous. The room had an inbuild small kitchen, and a balcony with a breathtaking view from the 56th floor. The restaurant at the hotel is also very good with really good quality buffet. The price is the best part.. i am sure it is less than half the usual price for the kind of amenities and "freebies" included like free lunch, minibar, breakfast, internet, etc.
Great hotel

I was planning to stay at the Shangri La or Oriental but went to this one at the last minute. A great choice. The rooms are large. A kingsized bed, a living room, a stocked mini kitchen, and a huge bathroom with tub and shower. Very nice.
The rooftop restaurant is amazing with great food. The gym and pool are really nice though I didn't get a chance to use them.
The other 2 mentioned hotels are on the riverfront but Lebua is just 5-10 minute walking distance to the river ferries. Also, about 5 minutes walking to the Skytrain.
Would stay there again for the great price on Expedia. $90!
Luxury in Bangkok

We stayed at Lebua for two nights in August. The room is huge, the views are breathtaking and the breakfast alone is worth the stay. We booked through their website (cheaper) and got a special offer which included free local calls, free internet, free unlimited soft drinks from the minibar and two drinks at the sky bar. It was a bit annoying when we checked out and we were billed for everything and we had to remind them about the terms of the offer, but it was sorted immediately.
Downsides: When we checked in we were old that we could check out late (6 pm) which was perfect for us since our flight was at 9 pm and this gave us the opportunity of having a shower and stuff after a day of sightseeing before heading off to the airport. We were really dissappointed when we were told last minute that we had to check out by 3pm which spoilt our plans.
Service is good and we would definetely stay there again.
Secret Jewel in Bangkok!!
by TripAdvisor Member qck100
My wife found this jewel through some research on TripAdvisor and we must say that we were not disappointed! We have had a huge suite with a stunning view over Bangkok, well maintained and clean.
The ultimate place however can be found when taking up the elevator to the top floors where both a fabulous restaurant and an outdoor bar are located under the nightly skies, allowing for a most relaxing evening, sipping a cold drink while overlooking the entire city. This place alone is worth the visit.
Service is excellent and the pricing was affordable and definitely worth every penny we spent. Great place to stay!

I will stay at Lebua on silom Road this weekend. Is it safe there at this time?
Any recommendation? Where is it safe to visit - places of interest?

Lebua, being at the river end of Silom Road, is in an area away from the protests so in that respect it is safe. There are many interesting sites to visit which are away from the protests: Wat Pho, Grand Palace, Ayutthaya, Ancient City, Koh Kret, Chachaengsao, etc.
Have a pleasant visit.

Let's keep things in their proper perspective: the Lebua is at the opposite end of Silom Road where the protests are now situate (at the Rama 4 intersection), well over 3 km away. Therefore, the Lebua's neighborhood is more likely than not going to remain a safe distance from the protesters who have been told by the military that Silom Road is strictly "off limits". For what it's worth, I just came down Silom Road 10 minutes ago and the protesters will have quite a task ahead of them if they are to reach anywhere near the Lebua.

Going on from what Bkk_Kd wrote, i also passed southern Silom Road this morning while going along Charoen Krung and there was nothing out of the ordinary happening. The chaos of last night was at the Rama IV intersection on the other end of Silom, and it's a long road. The Lebua seems like a convenient and safe place to stay at the moment.
