Honestly I love this hotel and went back twice in 2005. And once so far in 2006.

The Resort and Spa is one of 3 or 4 luxury hotels on the river in Bangkok. They have a river shuttle that was convienent and brought you right to the Sky Train. The Sky Train Dock was also a great drop off location for Taxi's and Tour Bus' (make them pick you up at the hotel) as traffic in the afternoon can be insane and by car, the ride over the bridge could be 45-60 min. The boat is quick and they serve water with cold fresh towels on the ride. The Sky Train is clean and will take you anywhere you want to go. The Resort has a beautiful spa, but the spa's across the street at the mall are better, massage was GREAT! and less expensive. The Marriott has a tendency to trap you at their hotels/compounds so you use their services and eat at their restaurants. It has pros and cons - the facilities (5 restaurants/spa/fitness ctr) are VERY western (including the prices.) However it was a nice retreat at end of a long day and the place is so big you didn't feel trapped. The hotel will try to get you to buy the breakfast and hor'derve drink special and tack it onto the room charge daily. Don't do it. It was an additional $65 US and not worth it AT ALL! Unless you are big drinkers.... We only regularly ate the breakfast - which for 2 was less then $25 US a day. We stayed in a deluxe room and it was fabulous. Great in room Jacuzzi tub, nice view, good service. Make sure you ask for discounts - car clubs, friends and family, airline, corporate, try them all and chances are one will work. WE were 2 women traveling alone and didn't have any problems. The hotel is also nicely situated far from the Sex Industry scene of the downtown area. However, though nothing to fear, sex for sale and it's buyers are very obvious everywhere in Bangkok.

    Beautiful Pool
    On the Water
    Free, convienet water shuttle
    Easy access to everything
On the Water, is the best place to be.

Excellent value for money. The hotel is amazing, with wonderful rooms, large , nicely decorated thai style . Staff is very efficient, always with a smiling face and willing to help.

Breakfast is superb, plentiful and with a large selection of Thai dishes and cold food.. Very nice swimming pool and fantastic spa. We were upgraded to a junior suite without even asking.

The several restaurants in the hotel serve excellent food.

A Royal Garden Resort situated at the banks of Chao Phraya River and they have a fabulous, lovely garden..feels like you're walking in the Eden..and it's away in the hustle and bustle in the City. Best enjoyed if you'll stay in the resort a couple of days. They have large and nice decorated swimming pool at the center of the resort. You can get to relax as it's quiet and peaceful! A cup of tea in the garden would be great!

Standard facilities as it's a 5 star hotel.

The hotel resort is a bit off the way from the city, it is the furthest in terms of location along the Chao Phraya river. It is located near the Krungthep Bridge. The best way to get to the hotel besides taxis is the resort's shuttle boat from the Sathorn pier.

Otherwise it is possibly the one and only resort within the Bangkok busy city - where you get lots of palm trees, plenty of orchids etc... a wonderful Mandora spa, lots of restaurants and the fell just make you sometimes need not get too far into the city proper. So many times, I just decided to sit back and realx and enjoy the hotel, take a sit at the pool, and sip some coconut drink, or enjoy a meal at the one too many restaurants, have a massage ----

We made bookings via the net - beign a Marriott reward member - and anyway, they mucked up my airport transfer and I ended up taking on VT member Sharrie suggestion to use the airport limo transfer available at the airport - which btw ended up cheaper, and when I arrived at the hotel, they already realised their mistake, so we were upgraded to a better room!!! a suite!!! and for 5 nights

The best part of the hotel, is they have shuttle boat to the sathorn pier, - every 15 minutes which is within minutes walk to Sathorn taksin Skytrain station - and they also have shuttle boat every hour to Oriental Hotel, and Rivercity - both were great way to get around - and very relaxing and calming!!! although some people may find it waste of time - I thought it was relaxing to sit on the boat ride after the heat running around the city with my shopping!!!!

We arrived at this hotel to spend the last night of our first trip to Thailand.
We had wanted a hotel near the river and we were not disappointed.

The room was very nice and everyone at the hotel went out of their way to be of help.
    A very friendly staff.

There was a bowl of fruit and an orchid in our room when we arrived. I thought that was very nice.

The hotel is huge but we still got personal service. Our plane left quite early the following morning so they brought coffee and pastry to our door at 5:15am.

There are views of the river from the balcony and if that is not enough, they also provide a river cruise. You can take the short cruise for evening cocktails or a longer cruise for dinner.

The hotel is about fifteen minutes away from the main tourist locations, but it's worth it! It has a ferry to the main city dock where you can pick up the water taxis or skytrain to go anywhere else in the city. The ferry runs right from the hotel property every 15 minutes until about midnight. They even give you a bottle of water and a lavender scented cold washcloth on the way back to the hotel. I would recommend upgrading your room to club level for $20 per night. It includes four hours of free happy hour with food, a great breakfast buffet, and a discount on the spa. I can't wait to go back!

WE just loved this hotel...Our room was on the 7th floor and overlooked the pool and the Chao Phraya River..The staff was extremely friendly..The breakfast buffet was delicious, the room was cleaned twice a day..The bed was huge and so soft with 5 or 6 pillows..The bathroom was huge...Just loved it...They had a free river taxi which dropped u off at the Skytrain Station...or u could take another river taxi and visit other attractions...

Gorgeous Lobby, huge pool, beautifully landcaped, nice rooms, nice view of the river...everything was perfect..Best staff ever..

Before I came here my worry was the convenience. Their webpage said the shuttle boat was scheduled for every half-hour. So I thought I had to carefully arrange the iternery to avoid waiting unnecessarily at the pier.

Actually, the frequency had increased to every 15 mins. Therefore, I didn't need to worry about missing a boat. I could go back at whatever time I liked to.

As this inconvenience factor was overcome, it beats other hotels in city centre as the spacious design and greenery surroundings would recharge you completely for next day's adventure.

    - Isolated from the hustle and bustle city centre and yet easily reachable with a 15 mins boat ride
    - Spacious
    - Greenery surroundings
