Another Budget hotel not far from Khaosan

After taking a lunch at May Kaidee's in Samsen Soi 1, we walked a bit crossed the road and right to Samsen Soi 6, and few meters down the road Nakorn Pink Hotel is on the left. The pink colour might have been miscalculated during the tinting process of the paints or may be it faded from several heavy rains, that it turned a little fleshy or orange-y.

When we enter the lobby, I immediately feel like it's a chinese-managed or owned hotel for some reason, and a bit dodgy atmosphere. We asked for the rates and check the room.

We went up on the 2nd floor, windows are frosted so don't expect a view, and screened for mosquitoes, ceiling fan, aircon, fridge and TV with english channels, wet-clothes rack, sofa-seats, dressing table -- inside a big room with plenty of space to move around, big-enough bathroom and shower too.

For a hundred baht more, they have hot water -- I was thinking that it was the hot shower, I said no hot water. But there was hot shower on the bathroom? I realized it may have been that hot water or kettle for tea & coffee.

Fan rooms are 100baht cheaper than a/c rooms. Since I was hit by a claustrophobia attack on my arrival at one of Sawasdee's chain of hotels in Khaosan Road, so I cancelled the second night (we booked 2) and transferred to Nakorn Pink the next morning.

I think we paid 450 or 490 baht for a double bed for 2 people.

Good choice for people who want to get near Khaosan Road - about 10 min. walk, but don't want to be in the middle of it with all the chaos and noise. Also for long-stay and family on budget. Safe and courteous staff too.
