Good location, fair price, crappy room!

We liked everything about New Siam II asides from one important thing...... the room!

-The guest house is in a great location- it is one block off of Khao San Road- about a 5 minute walk. You can also walk to many interesting sites from here.

-It also has a pretty good, inexpensive restaurant. We ate here a couple of times and really enjoyed it.

-The rooms were decent in size. However the bathroom was gross. There seemed to also be lots of bugs getting into the room which was pretty nasty. We didn't have this problem anywhere else in Thailand.

Unique Quality: There is a pool here which looked nice but we didn't get a chance to use it.

Although the room was pretty crappy- if you are looking for a cheap place to stay close to Khao San for a couple of nights I would still recommend New Siam II. If you will be spending more time in the area, try another place.

Since Khao San is so hectic and noisy, staying a couple of minutes away is a great option.

The price is right- about $25US for a private room with en suite bathroom.

Loius Vuiton sheets anyone?

After having seen rooms at Four Sons (500B) and Sawasdee (350B), looked at New Siam Guest House 1. Clean, comfortable and reasonable spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. The main difference between this and New Siam 11, is that there is no swimming pool or TV in your room. No problem. You do get Louis Vuiton sheets though (Fake). We are paying 590B a night (double with private bathroom, fan and air con)

We have been back in October/November. The room is 650B in November.

Unique Quality: Clean, comfortable and room to swing a cat in.

Comfortable Guest House

Here I stayed everytime I went to Bangkok. It is located close to Khao San Road, has a nice terrace and good rooms with fan only.

I payed for a single room 200 Baht per night (US$ 10).

Unique Quality: There is a travel agency associated to the guesthouse that arranges really cheap trips to anywhere in Thailand. I booked my trip to Ko Tao, which was about 300 Baht (bus and ship).
Furtheron there is internet access.
