Movie..
by yuet29
It was quite ean ye-opening to watch movie in Bangkok. I was watching this movie called 'the sin 2' in MBK's cinema. Initially I thought it is an unpopular english movie, but then discovered it is a thai movie.
It was an R21 rated-movie where many naked part are shown. However, the cinema allowed people from different ages- i saw kids and teenagers below 18 watching this movie. Hmm.. are the movies in Thailand cinema being categorized into different category??..
For those who interested, the movie tix in Bangkok is 120B, which is actually more expensive than malaysia..
Visa for Myanmar in Bangkok
by lotharscheer
At the moment travel agencies in Bangkok dont do the Myanmar visa, but
you can get a tourist visa at the Embassy of Myanmar in 2 working days for 810 Baht, express visa on the same day for 200 more.
You need 2 pictures with white background ! and a copy of your passport.
Entrance for visa is at Thanon Pan near Sathon Nuea.
There is a copy and picture shop (a bit more expensive) a 50 meter towards Silom oad.
Get there with bus nr. 15 from Khao San, or with skytrain from Sukhumvit.

Te floating markets
by Bjorgvin
Visit the floating markets. Bangkok is sometimes called the 'Venice of the East' for its network of canals (Klongs) on the Chao Phraya River. For a long time the residents of Bangkok have been communicating by small boats on the canals, not unlike Venice. The merchants of Bangkok take their fresh products (such as flowers, fruits etc.) by boat each day to the so-called floating markets for trading. At a floating market one will find all kinds of 'shops' and food stalls.
We Use A Spoon...
by Arjaree
...to eat rice, noodles, pasta, soup, anything and everything. Spoon plays a significant role in our Thai table manners. While Americans and Europeans use fork and Chineses use chopsticks, Thais use spoon. (though many use chopsticks for noodles)
However, its not a big deal. Just use whatever you feel comfortable with. Cos when it comes to eating, you should just enjoy it!
But don't eat like a pig..............And since you're not in Japan or China, try not to make noise when eating or sipping a soup. Thais don't think that is a way to compliment the food. Period.
Bring an Empty Bag!
by maxamilion
If you plan on coming to Bangkok, please bring as few items as you possibly can. I can't stress this enough! Bangkok is a shopper's heaven and even if you don't enjoy shopping you will still find yourself filling up your bag with goodies that you have purchased.
I've done many trips to Bangkok and i always take almost no clothes with me. You can buy them so cheap over in Bangkok that you shouldn't waste your time and energy lugging them all the way from home and then finding out you have to leave half of them in Bangkok, because you no longer want them!
