Conveniently located in Siam Square
One of the better hotels in this bustling region of teeny boppers and yuppies, for those who want a 4 star hotel stay after a day of shopping in this area, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent view and service.
Unique Quality: Great Views of Bangkok
Great breakfast - better than some of the bland soggy sausages at other places I've stayed in.

Best location for shopping
Location is wonderful. The best shopping arcades are in the vicinity and the hotel is near to skytrain. Location is the must of this hotel. Deluxe room are average, standard are small and ugly, junior suite are wretched. Good breackfast. Efficient staff, sometimes not so friendly. Good SPA.
Unique Quality: Location near skytrain and shopping centers.

Good Location
The primary selling point of this hotel was the location (Skytrain, Siam Square, World Center, MBK, etc... The room was very contemporary, as noted by another traveler. The breakfast buffet was delightful. Checking in and out was flawless; and the staff was extremely helpful throughout my stay. There are other hotels that offer similiar accomodations around Bangkok; howere for the price and the exact location Novotel Siam Square is hard to beat. If you want somoething nicer an in the Accor Family of hotels then travel 2 miles down the road to Siloam and stay at the Sofitel Siloam. Now that was a true five star hotel; but you have to walk about 1/2 mile to get to the skytrain. Or be willing to pay at least double if you want to stay near Siam Square and have equal or better accommadations (Grand Hyatt, 4-Season, Intercontinental, Holiday Inn Crown Plaza, etc). One last note I typically went to the Grand Hyatt and Intercontinetal for supper. WONDERFUL dinner buffets.

Really good location
Well, it's one of the Accor chain hotels... I mainly chose it due to its location and its price: only 50 EUR per night incl. a truly fantastic buffet breakfast.
Rooms are quite nice, and it's an ideal startpoint to explore the nearby shopping centres :-) ... and a lot of other interesting points in BKK since it's very close (2 minutes walk) to the next skytrain station.
There's some kind of club in the basement, but not worth going to. It's free if you stay at the hotel, but there's mostly (above) midddle aged Western males and quite a lot of girls admiring them :-* ... combine that with some rather awful music and you get an idea of what it's like.

Nice place to stay
Novotel Siam is one of the hotels that i love to stay over and over again. The location is really great;within the Siam Square where shops & restaurants are located. Walking distance from MBK and Siam Mall. BTS is just on the other corner of the street.
The room facilities are good with nice interior & functioning airconditioned unit.
Spacious lobby with live music everynight.
Great view of the city from our room..Huge Swimming pool though i didnt try to dip :-)

Central location
Wonderful central location. Room are average for the price. Deluxe room are fine. If you bok a standar rom is better to control on arrival because sometimes are fine, sometimes are not good for furniture and location.
Breakfast is god, but there is not a great choice.
Service is friengly and efficient
I'll reccomand for location and efficiency of staff,
Unique Quality: Location is perfect because it is near to shopping area and the sky train.

Smack in the middle of shopping paradise
The hotel is located in the centre of one of Bangkok's best known shopping and entertainment districts, adjacent to Siam Sky Train and close to the subway, giving easy access to the many fascinating places of interest in Bangkok.
It's a great place to stay when you're on a shopping holiday.

As Pathuwan Princess is full full full, I will be booking Novotel Siam Square. Is the hotel conveniently located? Any reviews abt the hotel?

I would say "too conveniently located" to describe this hotel, as it is connected to the Siam station. And Siam station is the interchange station, which means you can go everywhere without too much transit.
Besides, just opposite the hotel, you will find the Siam Centre and Siam Discovery Centre, where there are foods, clothings, home decors, etc to be offered in these shopping centres. Passing through Siam Discovery Centre and crossing the junction using the bridge, you will get to MBK centre, i.e. where Pathumwan Princess is located. MBK centre is a very localized shopping centre, with a lot of cheap apparels there, but then they have a Japanese department store, Tokyu there.

Haven't stayed there, but it's a very convenient location for shopping indeed. As well as Siam Center & MBK, Central World Plaza (aka World Trade Center) is not that far away.

stayed in that hotel years ago. good hotel, it gave me a good view of bangkok from my hotel room. as mentioned, it is very conveniently located along sukhomvit road which is the main road of bangkok that stretches for miles. very near shopping areas, train station, restaurants etc.
i hope you will be met at the airport. otherwise if you take a cab, specify Siam Square because there is another Novotel Hotel at the other end of sukhomvit road (near queen sirikit convention center).

it'll be great if your planning on doing a lot of shopping. there are a lot of cool, funky shops at ground level below the siam station.
i prefer staying at chateau de bangkok down the road from ploen chit station ( i think just 2 stops from siam).
i booked over the internet this past feb. and paid @2000baht, might be cheaper in the summer. it's a quieter neighborhood, near some embassies. really nice rooms, w/ fridge, sink & a couch and an awesome roof-top pool/gym with a nice view.
your also closer to really good street food.

do not worry 5 mn for the 1st hotel u try to book.
the novotel is in siam square good for shopping , as siam discovery and siam center.
and mbk cheap department store.
disco under the hotel cm2 is ok.........
