Conveniently located in Siam Square

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 18, 2011

One of the better hotels in this bustling region of teeny boppers and yuppies, for those who want a 4 star hotel stay after a day of shopping in this area, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent view and service.

Unique Quality: Great Views of Bangkok
Great breakfast - better than some of the bland soggy sausages at other places I've stayed in.
Close to BTS station
Starbucks right opposite.

Directions: Smack in the middle of Siam Square

Best location for shopping

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)

Location is wonderful. The best shopping arcades are in the vicinity and the hotel is near to skytrain. Location is the must of this hotel. Deluxe room are average, standard are small and ugly, junior suite are wretched. Good breackfast. Efficient staff, sometimes not so friendly. Good SPA.

Unique Quality: Location near skytrain and shopping centers.

Directions: Siam square

Good Location

The primary selling point of this hotel was the location (Skytrain, Siam Square, World Center, MBK, etc... The room was very contemporary, as noted by another traveler. The breakfast buffet was delightful. Checking in and out was flawless; and the staff was extremely helpful throughout my stay. There are other hotels that offer similiar accomodations around Bangkok; howere for the price and the exact location Novotel Siam Square is hard to beat. If you want somoething nicer an in the Accor Family of hotels then travel 2 miles down the road to Siloam and stay at the Sofitel Siloam. Now that was a true five star hotel; but you have to walk about 1/2 mile to get to the skytrain. Or be willing to pay at least double if you want to stay near Siam Square and have equal or better accommadations (Grand Hyatt, 4-Season, Intercontinental, Holiday Inn Crown Plaza, etc). One last note I typically went to the Grand Hyatt and Intercontinetal for supper. WONDERFUL dinner buffets.

Directions: Siam Square/World Center

Really good location

Well, it's one of the Accor chain hotels... I mainly chose it due to its location and its price: only 50 EUR per night incl. a truly fantastic buffet breakfast.

Rooms are quite nice, and it's an ideal startpoint to explore the nearby shopping centres :-) ... and a lot of other interesting points in BKK since it's very close (2 minutes walk) to the next skytrain station.

There's some kind of club in the basement, but not worth going to. It's free if you stay at the hotel, but there's mostly (above) midddle aged Western males and quite a lot of girls admiring them :-* ... combine that with some rather awful music and you get an idea of what it's like.

Novotel Siam is one of the hotels that i love to stay over and over again. The location is really great;within the Siam Square where shops & restaurants are located. Walking distance from MBK and Siam Mall. BTS is just on the other corner of the street.

The room facilities are good with nice interior & functioning airconditioned unit.

Spacious lobby with live music everynight.

Great view of the city from our room..Huge Swimming pool though i didnt try to dip :-)

Central location

Wonderful central location. Room are average for the price. Deluxe room are fine. If you bok a standar rom is better to control on arrival because sometimes are fine, sometimes are not good for furniture and location.
Breakfast is god, but there is not a great choice.
Service is friengly and efficient
I'll reccomand for location and efficiency of staff,

Unique Quality: Location is perfect because it is near to shopping area and the sky train.

The hotel is located in the centre of one of Bangkok's best known shopping and entertainment districts, adjacent to Siam Sky Train and close to the subway, giving easy access to the many fascinating places of interest in Bangkok.

It's a great place to stay when you're on a shopping holiday.

When we go back to Bangkok we will stay here again . What's not to like ?? The rooms are great, spotless and colour coordinated pastel shades of peach, old rose, salmon pink and mauve .Black marble bathrooms and fresh flowers It is superbly located in the real heart of Bangkok next to the sky you can go anywhere you want day or night!!

When we returned from a hectic day of siteseeing we often enjoyed a drink in the lounge and listened to the live music.

The included breakfast was impessive!!

Unique Quality: Location, Location, Location!!!

Served its purpose...

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 18, 2006

Stayed here the last 2 nights before coming home.

Well this is a four star (so they say) but it leaves a lot to the imagination... At least at the Trang you know what you are getting for the money. Here you pay a lot for the name but do not get the star treatment. I think hotels buy their stars in Asia not really sure how they earned them...

The shower had no power so it took 1/2 hour to get my hair washed, the hotel does not have wireless internet access free for guests, you pay and not cheap. Just go to any coffee shop with Wi-Fi hot spot, at least you pay but enjoy it as well.

The pool was good but you have to memorise the times of the day it is in the sun, early is in the shade, late afternoon is shaded, which means if you want to sunbathe bring factor 70 as at 11am the sun toasts you already...

Unique Quality: The prospect of being upgraded to breakfast in the executive floor, the room is smaller and the food better.

You are in the centre of the city, if your aim is shopping or if you have only one day to get loose in all the shops.

Best hotel if you want to shop

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 16, 2006

If you're in Bangkok for the express purpose of shopping, then this is a choice hotel to stay in, primarily because of location. It's just mere footsteps away from the best shopping areas in Bangkok, like the eclectic Siam Square, which is a maze of little boutiques. The massive Siam Paragon is just across from the hotel and MBK is one BTS stop away, or you can also walk. The Siam BTS station just next to the hotel, which means taking the subway around Bangkok is super convenient.

That said, the hotel itself is pretty good. The rooms are standard rooms, clean, comfortable and from what I heard, newly renovated. A small complaint is that I had was the noise. I stayed on the 10th floor, and because the hotel is so close to the youth hub that is Siam Square, I could hear muffled music through the windows beginning about 10am, which is when the place comes to life with shoppers. But that's really a minor quibble. It's not that loud. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. The singers at the lobby lounge were awful though, when you enter the hotel at night you can already hear the really bad singing. Otherwise if it's a basic hotel that you're looking for, then this is pretty much it.

Unique Quality: Two big plusses for this hotel, aside from location, are the Tammachart Spa on the fourth floor and Chinese restaurant Lok Wah Hin on the second floor.

I had a lovely Thai herb facial at the Tammachart Spa, which cost about 1,600 baht. The spa also offers other services, like Thai massages and body treatments, the usual spa type services but with a Thai touch. The therapists were nice and the place is opened from 9am to 10pm, which means you can treat yourself to something relaxing before or after major shopping.

Lok Wah Hin is supposed to be one of the best dim sum restaurants in Bangkok. True, the food is good, but we made the mistake of going for the dim sum buffet at about 600 baht per person. The food came non-stop, the waiter didn't speak good enough English to inform us that there was going to be this much food, and in the end we couldn't finish everything. So try the restaurant but avoid the buffet unless you have a massive appetite

Directions: Just outside the Siam Square BTS station (you can take exit 4). Turn into the little lane at the 7-11 store and walk for a bit. It's also opposite Siam Paragon shopping center.

I stayed there for two nights and very satisfied in everything. The room is big and clean, the people there was very polite. the food is great, they even serve 'HALAL' food. The location is superb cause it's very near to Siam Paragon (Siam Ocean World), MBK, Hard Rock Cafe, Jim Thompson, and many more. Great Hotel!

Good central location

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 12, 2006

Good central location, near MBK, Sky train etc. This was the cheapest place we stayed in Thailand and it was really pleasant. Reasonable size room, nice bathroom, roof top swimming pool , very reasonable room service and a great location to explore from. I'm sure if you booked one of their better rooms it would be lovely. As a standard room it was good. Never ate at the hotel so I can't comment on that. A good place as a base for exploring Bangkok at a reasonable price.

My biggest tip would be to go to Bangkok last rather than at the start of a holdiay. It can be quite a culture shock to a Westener. I would spent some time exploring the ways, culture and smells of Thailand in other areas THEN hit Bangkok. It will be less of a culture shock and you will enjoy Bangkok far more.

Directions: Near MBK

Very grand hotel, nice location close to Siam Square and MBK shopping mall. Waling 5minutes can reach Hard Rock Cafe. There's a nice Thai restaurant infront of this Hotel, but too bad i've forgot the name of the restaurant.

Average Hotel for Above Average Price

Good location in Siam Square, but nothing at all in terms of justifying the price. The hotel is no better than similar mass market tourist hotels but it certainly prices itself above them.

The nightclub in the basement is a surreal experience - packed with middle aged western men and those ladies who want to find them.

I would not rush back to this hotel.
