    A Decent Place to Crash

    by

The Novotel Suvarnabhumi is right in front of the airport, just a couple minutes' drive from the arrival and departure doors. It is an upscale place, but runs a bit expensive, due to its reputation and proximity to the airport. I spent two nights there, just as a way to spend a night between flights. It was clean, comfortable, with amenities a plenty in the lobby including a restaurant.

It was definitely convenient for airport travel, though it is far from the main city. If you use this as a base of operation for exploring Bangkok you'll be gearing up for long (and expensive) taxi rides in and out of the hotel.

    Perfect for a transit stay

    by

The staffs were friendly. It was perfect for my one night stay as I had a very early morning flight. Room was nice and comfortable. Quick check-in. The shuttle bus was very efficient and the driver was very polite and helpful. I would stay there again.

Directions: Just in the airport area

    Decent Hotel For A Stopover

    by

I picked this hotel as I had less than 24 hours before an early flight out of Bangkok. The rooms are pretty much the standard fare for Novotel although a little bit more roomier than some I have stayed in. The room was also exceptionally clean - a definite plus point!

The hotel has a lovely pool to relax by and this was perfect for me to enjoy a few hours of sunshine. The staff were attentive and friendly and the drinks and pool-side snacks were good quality.

The restaurant that I ate in, had an international menu and was open 24/7. In terms of atmosphere, it was a little sterile but the food was well prepared. It was also the venue for breakfast, which was a buffet style help yourself with an extensive range of choice.

There is a free, regular shuttle service to and from the terminal buildings.

It is a hotel that I would recommend, if you do not want the hassle of traveling into the city centre.

Unique Quality: The hotel pool is a definite plus point, it is well maintained and extremely clean. The pool-side staff also offered a very high standard of service.

Directions: Take shuttle bus from Gate 4, Level 2. Buses leave every 10 minutes.

    Airport hotels Thailand

The hotels near the airport are there for travelers just like you which is why they are a bit, maybe a lot more expensive than downtown. You do not mention if you are interested in doing any sightseeing on your layover, I assume you do not but you would have some time.
There are a few airport hotels that you could try. Louis Tavern hotel, 75-85$ w. breakfast, and there is also a Novotel, about 125$, and Rama Gardens whcih has been around for a long time.
Should you go downtown it is relatively hassle free. Taxi into town shouldn't take you more than an hour and about 600B or less, pay the toll fee it's faster. Once ther you'll have access to many more restuarants, shopping on the street or night bazaars and sightseeing. You should be able to find a decent hotel in your comfort and budget range close to the expressway on Sukhumvt Rd/Ploenchit area to quickly get you back out of Bangkok the next morning.
    Good luck

    At the Airport

    by

Sometimes it is worth it to pay for convenience and comfort. When we departed Bangkok to go home, our flight left at 8:15am. That means, we need to check in a few hours before our flight leaves at around 6am! We wanted to ensure a good nights rest because we had a very, very long flight home (not direct). This hotel had the largest king size bed I have ever seen! And very comfortable. A very nice hotel, great looking pool and airport shuttle service.

I booked this hotel at a different site rather than the hotel's official website because I was able to get the room US$30 cheaper. So, perhaps even other hotels might be less expensive as well through this website:

    Directions: At the airport

A hotel that would do as a resort!

    by

We stayed here for one night after arriving late at BKK airport and leaving early the next day. Uopon arrival, it was easy to find a person who was waiting with transportation. The minibuss ride was about 2 minutes (you can walk as well to the hotel). A very beautiful lobby, really wonderful. It is a quite busy hotel, so you have to stand in line for check in, but it went smoothly. The room is very nice and quiet. New, clean, comfortable, luxuous. I really recommend this hotel. The breakfast was very good and open even earlier then advertised (in case you need to catch an early flight). Friendly staff everywhere. There is no negative comment. Only I can say that it was such a positive impression, the hotel would have done great at e.g. a nice beach as well!

One issue is the price. For BKK it is not cheap. A little trick is to do a search on the websites. If you find a rate lower than on the Novotel page, book on the Novotel page as that have the lower price guarantee. In this way you get the lowest price you found on the other website minus 10%.

We paid about 90 Euros for a standard room.

Rooms can also be rented for part days, in case you want to relax before or after your flight.

    It was free!

Due to a certain budget airline our flight was canceled twice. They put us up here and we did enjoy it. Our first reaction to seeing the lobby was 'Wow'. Because we are on a budget we did find that the food and drink was expensive. The food was good.

If you do stay here due to similar circumstances to ours, there is a shuttle bus that departs for the airport every 15 minutes. It is cheaper to eat at the airport. There is a Happy shopper at the airport where you can buy sandwiches, cold drinks including beer and take them back to your room.

I think that the photo's say it all really.

Unique Quality: This Novotel has character and does make you say 'Wow' as you walk in. Especially if you are used to being on a budget.

    decent airport hotel

    by

the airport hotel is not really at the airport, there's a shuttle bus you need to take outside of exit #4, the airport is very bad with signs so there are no signs telling you where to go, after you exit #4 door (not that obvious either) there's an area outside to hop in the shuttle, the shuttle ride itself is 5 minutes away, you arrive into the concierge area which feels like it's 1/2 a mile away from the check in counter, but since the place is brand new, once you are in your room (in my case felt like I had to walk in one big circle to get to my room) it was not bad and a decent base for the night before transitting to another destination

Directions: exit door 4 for shuttle

Bangkoks perfect Hotel

by lindyz about Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square

This Novotel Hotel is in the perfect location, in Siam Square. It is within 10 minutes walk to the MBK Centre, where you will satisfy all your shopping desires in one building! Reasonable rate, very nicely furnished rooms, and nice pool area.

We were originally on I think the 5th floor, a smoking floor because my friend smokes. But I couldnt really handle the smell, so we changed, and I decided to splurge and up-grade. So, we went from a standard room to a Junior Suite, on the 15th floor! The room was almost twice the size, it had a balcony and fantastic views across Bangkok, well worth the extra money.

RE: Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel

by poonyawee2002

Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel is the hotel co-invested between Novotel Hotel, Thai Airways International Public Company and Airports Authority of Thailand. So the hotel was changed its name as Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel as same time as operating airport service. The hotel has the connecting bridge to the airport for conveneience to the traveller. But you can call the metered taxi for taking you to any hotel in BKK., but tradtionally, you must pay the parking charge of 50 Baht and the fare depending on the meter shows when arrive to destination (if you ask the drive to run on express way you must add paying for express way service not over than 50 Baht). Please be care of cheating driver and illegal taxi. If you have any problems treating you incorrectly, please call the tourist police with hotline no. 1155. Have a good trip.
