She felt it's her hotel!

When made the check-in, Doll Doll surprisingly found that her roomwas upgraded to deluxe suite. Grandma was more than happy to enjoy a suite room with 3 bedrooms.

Though it's a 4 star hotel, the price for the food in the western restaurant was quite reasonable with excellent taste.

Why Doll Doll felt like her hotel? It's all because almost every hotel staff she met was very friendly and warm by giving her greetings.

* When she walked in the hall by pulling the luggage, one hotel staff asked her whether she was going to check out. When he heard Doll Doll said yes to him, he gave a very friendly smile with "bye-bye" and Doll Doll said the same word to him.

* One female staff even wanted to help her grandma to throw a plastic bag which later grandma clarified there were something inside. She watched Doll Doll and grandma walking away with smile

But it seemed more mystery buried inside this grand hotel as it was built for the prince. Doll Doll heard someone was trying to tell her something, which will probably lead her come to this hotel in the future (probably soon).

This hotel is fully equipped with restaurents, 2 swimming pools and they have a great breakfast with rich choices as it is located far away from the city center. By standing at the platform of the suite building, you can view the whole scenary of Thailand. You might need to take a taxi or tuk-tuk to get to the tourist area and shopping center.

However, it seems more mystery buried inside this hotel as someone was trying to tell her, which probably drive her to visit this hotel probably in the near future.

Unique Quality: Very friendly hotel staff to Doll, Breakfast has a wide range of selection, and views to watch the city from the reception floor and swimming pool was grand

Doll Doll has her own unique reason to stay in this hotel in the future.

Great value for money

I stayed at the Prince Palace by myself in January and found it to be clean, comfortable with good service. I found it central to both the river area and the Silom area. The water taxi in the canal is great when going to the Paragon etc - 8 baht to MBK and took about 4 minutes. It is a grandioise hotel - very large halls and public areas which look very impressive and is used for weddings (large!) and conferences.
I stayed there again in the middle of April with my family in a two bedroom suite. Again, clean, spacious and comfortable. The internet rate for this was US$80 per night for the 4 of us- very good value for the standard of hotel.
It does get crowded on the street in the mornings with the vendors but the hotel is not far from the start of the expressway to the airport - very important in Bangkok!
It is walking distance to the river and the Grand palace etc.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others, including those with families which are so hard to find accommodation for.

Unique Quality: It had two pools, a few restaurants and bars and some great views (when the smog cleared a bit).

Great value for a very nice hotel

We found this hotel to be an extremely pleasant surprise. We had booked a last minute trip to Bangkok with friends who couldn't afford to pay too much and they'd found a deal on Wotif.com for the Prince Palace Hotel. We could get a superior room for 1,550 baht per night.

We very happy about that until we got there to check in and were given a complimentary upgrade to a superior suite in the new wing, Tower B AND that included a free buffet breakfast. Now we were all thrilled, I just love getting an upgrade, it makes me feel so lucky.

Check in was a breeze with courteous, professional staff.

The suites were 8/10 on a cleanliness scale, very good for Asia! Just a little mould on the grout. The bed and pillows were comfortable.

We stayed here twice and were lucky enough to get the same deal both times. I see it's still available on Wotif, now being more than 2 months after our first stay.

Unique Quality: I don't think there are any great views in Bangkok, but there were extensive views from both suites we stayed in.

We were, however very disappointed in the Picadilly Pub on the 11th floor. EXTREMELY POOR service and not a bottle of wine in the bar that wasn't off - REALLY OFF. Staff were unprofessional and disorganised, totally messing up our snack order, taking over 30 minutes to deliver it, let alone the drinks. Steve got up at one stage to ask what was happening to our drinks - about 20 minutes after we'd placed our order only to find the staff giggling and chatting. After asking for our bill, we waited for about another 20 minutes before we both got up to find the same scenario, the very friendly and sweet girl apologising. It wasn't enough to stop us being extremely annoyed though. There had only been another 3 people in the bar apart from us and they'd left early in our time there, so it's not as though they were busy.

Heart of the garment district - shop till you drop

We stayed in the Prince Palace hotel three nights in February 2005. The room was clean and kept clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

However, the location is a bit difficult if you want to get to the tourist or shopping areas during heavy traffic. Taxis will not be able to move, and the open air tuk tuks can be uncomfortable on a hot day.

Unique Quality: Garment Market - The hotel occupies floors 11 through 31 of the Bo Bae tower. The lower floors and surrounding neighborhood are a wholesale / retail garment market. You can buy one item, but there is a large discount if you buy a dozen. In the morning, the market is a frenzy of activity as many stall holders arrive to purchase their daily stock.

Shopping and Sleeping in the same building!

The first impression of the hotel was that the staff at the reception desk was very friendly. We had a large comfortable room with a great view. We had booked it over the internet and found it quite inexpensive. Breakfast was included, and it was great!

Unique Quality: We saw the nice-looking pool but did not use it. There are 4 or 5 restaurants in the building, we tried the expensive Chinese restaurant which was good. Special about this hotel is that the building also hosts a large and cheap shopping center.

More about Prince Palace Hotel

... **** luxury ....

by vtveen about Bangkok - Prince Palace Hotel

After a lot of research and surfing on the internet, we decided for some luxury while staying in Bangkok. Through a Dutch travel agency in Thailand called Green Wood Travel we made our reservation and got a very interesting price for this **** hotel.

Our room was on the 30th floor and we had a great view of the city toward Chinatown and Hualamphong Station. Rooms were spacious and clean. In the meantime the hotel has more than 700 rooms and two swimming pools on the 11th floor, nice for a cooling down after a ‘hot’ day in the city.
The breakfast hall - sometimes a little bit chilly - has 250 seats with every morning a buffet breakfast. The hotel has also a couple of restaurants and bars, as well as a beer garden at the swimming pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Prince Palace Hotel is located in the Bobae Tower on Damrongrak Road (along the Khlong Sen Seb). We liked this location: a garment market on the first 11 floors of the tower and outside the hotel in the surrounding roads and a fruit and vegetable market a little bit further away. No western fast food chains, but just a small supermarket around the corner or street food vendors and an ATM for our Thai Baht. The main tourist sights are not too far away and easy accessible by taxi (15 minutes) or longtail boat (a couple of minutes). The price we paid through our travel agency (the official hotel rates are 3 times more !!); the unique view we had; the location without any tourists or western shops and restaurants.
