    • By North American standards this is probably a 4 star hotel, it's also pretty centrally located, and although it's not very cheap by Thai standards, you can get a very nice room (with a river view) and a full breakfast buffet for around $60CAD a night = $40US.

  • Directions: It's located along the Chao Phraya river which makes it very easy to get around by boat (translate as 'get around Bangkok traffic and pollution'). There's a River Express Boat stop about 5 minutes

    When I came from the airport, the ride took me 2 hours. Qin Qin was feeling very sick in the cab. When we arrived, to our disappointment, we were given a room with only a side view of the Chao Phraya River as we had booked "Superior River Side". Thus if you want to see the whole river, you must book Deluxe River Front which is around THB 2000.

    The next morning when we want to go to the city (Siam square area) for shopping, we realised we have to take 1hour taxi to get there. The ride is around 250baht, which is a whopping 500baht back and forth. Another way to get to the city is take river ferry to go to Saphan Taskin BTS and from there take BTS to Siam Square. The river ride was not 30 minutes as claimed!!! It is around 50 minutes. 30 minutes ride is for private hotel river ferry that has only 2 timing, one in the morning and one in the evening. The pier for royal river is N16, and the BTS is N1. Oriental and Penisula hotel is N2 and N3.

    Not recommended. We were really cheated by the bell boy also. If you are the type into shopping, never stay here. But if you just want a good rest, then it may proved to be a good stay, away from the busy city. If you into shopping, my recommendation is to stay into kritthai mansion which is 4 minutes from National Stadium.

    Also, very few taxi know this hotel. The buffet is average.

    Its just beside Chao Phraya River. Just accross the river is the Dusit Zoo.

    Friendly staff and good rooms.

    We were very pleased with our stay here. The room, and the hotel for that matter was extremely clean and kept up. There was a full-service, affordable restaurant located in the lower level of the hotel with "Buffet" style dining.

    Roomservice was very inexpensive and the food was better than most. Try the lambchops.

    Because the hotel is located on the Chao Phraya river, we were able to secure a river taxi that picked us up right at the hotel. It was very affordable and took us on a tour of the canels, the Barge Museum and finally across the river to the Royal Palace. I can't recommend this enough. It gave us a very interesting look into some of the neighborhoods and lifestyles of the Thai people.
