Enquiries about Bangkok
by Marcialina
I have few questions:
1. I would like to visit some wholesale mall where I can get some wholesale stuff. I heard that MBK, Platinum and Pratunam are the wholesales mall. Any other wholesales mall tat I should go?
2. Where can I stay that are near (walking distance) to the above-mentioned malls. I'm on tight tight budget but would like to stay somewhere that is clean and safe.
3. Any popular night market to recommend?
4. Last but not least, are plus size ladies' clothing easy to get there? I am UK 20.
Thanking you in advance

1. Bo Bae Tower & Market is another one, from Pratunam you can take the canal boat to go there.
MBK and Platinum is also good for retail/wholesale.
2. Pratunam & Surrounding Area have many hotel at 700+ Bhat, such as A2 House. Phayathai, 680 Bhat or Baiyoke Botique Hotel for 850 Bhat, Baiyoke City Inn for 900 Bhat,
Option, stay at Khaosan Road for as low as 250/280 Bhat, take the Bus from there will cost 14 Bhat round trip Non AC/Specious.
3. The Suan Luam Night Bazaar (Silom/Lumphini Park Intersection)
Pratunam Market Complex (24 hour)
Patpong Night Market (in Silom)
Stalls & Shops at Khao San Road remain open till late night
4. At Platinum Mall (3rd/4th/5th floor) and Bo Bae market you can find plus size clothings and at MBK 2nd and 3rd floor

I am not a plus size, and I couldn't get anything to fit me. Sizes are very small.

MBK and Pratunam would be the best, but be sure to try on your stuff before you buy. My large frame calls for XXXL in some cases when they claim I am XL. Don't believe them, they just want to make a sales. Try them on first. I sometimes stay at ahostel call Suk 11, they have a web site and can be found for 15 euros a night. They are clean and safe. Travel Tips for Bangkok
Drink plenty of local beer
by Rodan44
Bangkok is hot and humid and can really get to you after a long day of sightseeing. Make sure you take plenty of breaks and drink plenty of local beer. Singha and Chang are the most popular, and both will quench your thirst just fine. They have some other brands, but they look kind of sketchy. Just stay away from the Thai whiskey... NASTY!
The Chao Phrya
by pmarshuk
The River of Kings separates Bangkok from Thonburi. The river is in many places not really a river at all, especially around Bangkok. It was built as a canal to shorten the distance from Ayutthaya to the sea, by cutting across many bends in the river. The canal has now become the main channel of the Chao Phrya. The picture show a view up the river from the Taksin Pier.
Bangkok Storage lockers

As Gaolei mentioned, leave your extra bags at the hotel that you originally stayed at. The only caveat is, is that you may want to return and stay another night at the same hotel where you left your clubs/bags. I have not had a hotel charge me but I always try nd check ahead. On almost all of my trips I have bags that I leave behind in Bangkok so I don't have to lug around extra stuff I don't need. I have never had any problems with lost or stolen articles, and actually last time I forgot to lock up my bags, I walked out with the padlock in my pocket, everything was fine. You should never have to pay for storage space if you stay at a hotel.
Good luck
Don't kiss in public
by zazatann
Thailand is quite conservative country. We're polite and don't kiss by lips in public. When you want to come and see Thai life and culture, please respect our country as don't do like we normally don't. There are still so many people do that which we don't mind though but just don't feel comfortable to see much because you're quite outstanding here as the visitor.
You may not know what people talk in Thai language when you both are kissing so sweet in a front of us.
Do not bring any clothes
by largerama
A big one to fill up NONE - They are cheaper here. Especially on the Saturday market next to Mochit Sky Train NONE - Cheaper here. There are Tescos everywhere with brand names. NONE - They are cheaper here. Try Ko San Rd or market listed above Who brings Miscellaneou with them?!?!?
