Budget Backpackers Types
by YaaDong about Sawasdee Smile Inn
One of the many Sawasdee guesthouse chain, this is very much a backpackers' digs, the rooms are rather small and very basic and the cleanliness was so-so. However, for 350 baht you get a double bed, private bathroom, satellite TV and aircon. The area is not noisy and easy to get to all the main areas for sightseing. If you stay more two nights you get a night fee promotion. CHEAP AS CHIPS!

Not sure if this is in Khao San Road - check site www.khaosanroad.com for ideal guesthouses for young travellers.

Go to, instead of . You will see their list of hotels in Bangkok and their prices for each.
"Sawasdee Smile" is not on Khao San road but very near.

You can feel pretty safe in assuming you won't be using squat toilets in Bangkok accommodation!

Hi everybody,
please dont check in there. We have been in the sawasdee smile in for two days and put our value things into the hotel safe. After checking out 6000 bath and 50 Euros were stolen.
