Has anybody seen the Calypso show and would you recommend it? Is it value for money?

Is it best to book it once in Bangkok or before travelling?

Yes it really worth going , its at the Asia Hotel . You can get ticket from any travel agent near the place you stay it will be cheaper to get from them , approx about 400- 450 baht . If you get at the entrance it will be more expensive .

Hi,

You may go for these shows, however, I would like to make it clear that these shows are by Transgenders and Transvestites, and not by pretty/gorgeous ladies as you may have thought or looked up on the net! (lol). If you are ok with men dancing wearing cloths of women, then go and enjoy this show!

Take Care!

Tips about having yrs meal at Food court

by thorchester

Most food court in the Bangkok are very special, you have to buy a stored value card, otherwise you can not buy any food at there. The stored value card do not have limited price, you just pay some, then you can use this card to buy your meal at there. Some will refund the rest to you, but some will not, so you have to be becareful about that.

- Go to royal Palace, of course. Gaudy but stunning all the same.
- Take a river taxi. Great way to see untouristy parts of Bangkok.
- Go to the Weekend Market, the largest market in Thailand.
- See a movie. The cinemas in Bangkok are paragons of luxury...

Siam Square

by jrs1234

Siam Square is next door to Chulalongkorn University and is home to a number of language schools, so don't be surprised to see lots of students in this area. It's a semi-pedestrianised area with lots and lots of small shops, just over the road from the MBK and Siam Center shopping malls.

It's a bit hot in the daytime, but if you're looking for shops that are a little bit different to those in the malls, this could be the place to come. As well as lots of shops, there are cinemas and restaurants - including the Hard Rock Cafe on Soi 11.

It's all just south of the Siam (Central) Skytrain station, and if you want to stay here, there is a Novotel right on Siam Square Soi 6.

They RESPECT Monks a lot!

by Applelyn

You can see people greeting monks and even offering them seats on public transports. More than 90% of the population believe in Buddhism. There are about 10 000 temples in Thailand and 270 000 Sangha(monks). Monks are highly respected there as most of them doubled up as counsellors, teachers and even mediators.

Lightweight Clothes

by roamer61

Large enough bag for gift and souviners if going shopping. Bring lightweight clothing for Bangkoks hot and humid weather. Sandals for temple visits. You must remove them before entering places of worship. Bring insect repellent and sunscreen. You'll need both. Make sure you have plenty of film, memory and also bring spare batteries.
