There is no train link from the airport to the hotel. When in Operation, Airport Link Train will take you to Makasan or Phaya Thai Stations.

You can take Airport express Bus # AE1 (150 Bhat - you have to tell at the airport ticket counter) which will drop you at Montien Hotel.

For Going to NANA take Metro (24 Bhat) at SAM YI station which is just few minutes from your hotel to SUKHUMVIT (12 minutes-5th Stop) and walk back 5 minutes. You wont be able to take it on the way back if late night (operating hours are from 0600 till 0000)

Re: Bangkok

I want to correct the previous poster's advice. There is no subway station named Sam Yi. I think he/she was referring to Samyan station. Also, should you choose to take the subway as he/she advised, the walk to Nana from the Sukhumvit station will be closer to 10 minutes as you'd be walking from Sukhumvit Soi 21 (Asoke) to Soi 3 (Nana is on Soi 4, which is on the opposite side of Sukhumvit from Soi 3).

If you are traveling with companions to Nana, then in normal traffic (e.g., not during rush hour or a heavy rainfall) it'll possibly be cheaper taking a taxi than going by subway or BTS. To reduce the chances of the taxi taking a long, congested route to Nana, I suggest telling the taxi to take you to Ploenjit Center (on Soi 2) and then walking the short block to Nana. This way the taxi "should" take Thanon Rodfay (the train road), a major short cut.

When returning to the Montien, definitely take a taxi unless traffic is horrendous. The return by car is a short and direct route.

Nana is not a shopping area per se, as MBK is. However, you'll find many sidewalk vendors throughout the Sukhumvit area.

Travel Tips for Bangkok

The original Thai massage

by norain

The original Thai massage is an integral part of the knowledge developed by the Buddhist approach to medicine and body conciousness. It is best experienced in one of the temples where it is often taught as well.

Are u lost at Chatuchak?

by imstress

This is a map of the whole Chathchak Market.
I was standing near the bank and the restaurant area.

The lanes all look the same and you could easily be lost.

If you are buying bulky items and would not wish to lug it around, just deposit with the shop keeper and ask for a name card or map back to the shop.

i did that and no need to carry around the 3.8kg triangle pillow around in hot and small lanes at Chatuchak.

River Cruise - Royal Barges

by Audrey118

This is a famous boat shed and museum where the Royal Barges are 'parked'.

There is a magnificent celebration Royal Barge Procession that takes place on the River of Kings. The barges date back to Ayutthaya period. Each October, the King would tarvel in his fleet of royal barges to present robes to the monks to mark the end of the 3 month Buddhist Rains Retreat. The first one in half century was held in 1968, then 1982 to mark the bicentennial of the establishment of Bangkok as the capital city.

Feed the pigeons

by kenningst

I was walking along The Grand Palace when suddenly a local handed me a pack of corns and then pointed me to the pigeons and said "Good luck, good luck. For god for god". Then only I realise that it is sort of a good omen to feed the pigeons and a religion thing. At first I thought that they guy will turn around and ask me for some money but then when I fed the pigeons the guy was no where to be found. Funny enough but then it was fun feeding the pigeons though...

This palace is located just beside The Grand Palace. Its hard to miss an area filled with pigeons, right?
