Five star accomodation

It was funny to enter that hotel with backpack, dirty and tired. Little bit contrast, eh?

There are 39 floors, and we stayed in 19th floor; superb views!
There is a decent priced(really, cheaper than minibar!) bar at 38th floor called V9. Must place for a drink or two.

Unique Quality: There are evrything you may need;swimming pool, sauna, gym, bars, restaurants, limousine service, spa, massage,...

We got the room for 2880 bahts/52 Euros, thanks to Winston(travelagent4thailand).

On silom road

Even i stay few years ago, it was the Monarch Lee Gardens, i have a good souvenir from this hotel of 37th floor high . First great location on Silom and second splendid view from the room. The bathroom is not large but it have separate shower and bath. Nice fitness room and small pool. Restaurant offer great view on Bangkok bulding.

Unique Quality: Great view from the room, good location in Silom

French Flavour

Front Desk - Very Helpful and informative personnel. No problem with changing of smaller denominations of Baht

Concierge - Excellant service. These guys seem to know the ins and outs of various places. I am never afraid to ask them

Housekeping - Prompt and helpful.

Restaurants - famous wine bar at the 37th floor and the chinese restaurant at the 38th floor.

Most Important ........ROOM is fantastic value for money. Check out Sofitel's Website, it has a "360 degree" view of the rooms there (Called virtual visit- Click on the "eye").
You will not be disappointed

Unique Quality: Great view of the city on the 37th or 38th floor. Should not miss it. Even if you don't stay at the hotel you should "sneek" to the 37 as though you are going to have dinner.

Location at the most famous district - Patpong and the area around it has various stalls and peddlers of wares at night.

Near the sky train stations of Chong Nonsi and Sala Daeng. No problem travelling to Jatuchak

Easily accesible from the airport. Your cab fare will cost you approx Baht 300 (including the highway tolls of Baht70 and the airport surcharge of Baht50)

Best deal on Silom area!

This has got to be the best deal on Bangkok's famous Silom area in practically all aspects of accomodation - location, rooms, service, facilities, hospitality and to the interest of others - guest-friendliness. Sofitel Silom is not cheap because online reservationists can only go as low as USD62 nett per night/incl bfast for its deluxe rooms. But once you get a feel of the place, you would easily conclude that this is indeed an excellent value for money. It is walking distance to a skytrain station (10mins) and the shopping area of Silom and Patpong (15 mins.) Highly recommended, especially if you fancy to spend a bit more and stay in their club rooms where the service exceeds the already topnotch standard they give to their guests.

Unique Quality: Tastefully-designed and spacious rooms with a hint of modern Thai interiors; big bathroom with a separate shower cubicle and tub; sumptuous breakfast buffet at the 2nd floor (38th floor for club rooms); reasonable-priced room service; great restaurant outlets, especially the wine bar, good spa and very welcoming - albeit narrow - lobby where people can meet in an effortless fashion. The pool area has been a constant fly in the ointment so to speak because of its small size, but that won't bother you if all the other outstanding qualities are taken into consideration. Staying here is, without a doubt, money well-spent.

Not that great

In general, Sofitel is one of the better Accor hotel chains, hmhhm... somehow that's not quite true for Sofitel Silom. While being quite far away from public transportation (and since Silom Rd is always very busy, taking a cab is not such a good alternative), rooms being quite dated and the rest of the facilities in rather average condition, the rates went up to 100 EUR recently - without any improvements.

Anyway, it's just a 10 mins stroll to Patpong, but after spending one evening there incl. a visit to the surprisingly good techno club "Lucifer", I didn't feel like going there again.

Sofitel Silom Best Deal in BKK

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location and the price for what you get cannot be beat. The rooms are very large, clean and the views are exceptional. Good comfortable beds and towels, a bathroom with walk in shower and tub and beautiful hardwood floors. The staff were all extremely helpful and the location is also excellent. The sky train is only 4-5 blocks, Patpong and the Silom night market is only a 5-10 min walk up the road and the river is only a 10-15 minute walk in the other direction. I love this hotel and found a rate of $62 inclusive of taxes and breakfast on asiarooms.com. At this price, you can not find a better deal in BKK for this quality.

Cosy room at Sofitel Silom

The Deluxe Room at the Sofitel Silom was clean, spacious with a nice bathroom. The bed was comfortable and came with four pillows, two extra large ones. This is the first time that I do not have to call Housekeeping to request for extra pillows, so I am absolutely delighted. The view was nothing much to scream about, but you do get a decent skyline of the city.

The buffet breakfast was great with a wide variety, and came a breathtaking view as it was served in the resturant on the 37th floor. The hotel also has a nice bar which is quite good for chilling.

Location wise, it is situated in the old business district and the skytrain is a merely 10 minutes walk. If a-go-go bar is your thing, you'll be happy to know that Patpong, which is famous for its a-go-go bars, is only about 5 -10 minutes walk from the hotel.

However, the pool is a little small, which is quite a disappointment. There is also a spa in the hotel, but the prices are quite steep.

Unique Quality: The hotel lobby has a calming and soothing atmosphere, due to its clean line and ample display of lotus flowers floating in bowls of water.

You can order boxes of orchids or lotus flowers to take home with you, which will make an absolutely wonderful gift.

Bangkok Best value Money!

We stayed at Sofitel for 4 nights and it was absoluteley great. We are a familiy with 2 children (7 and 5 years old) and it was no problem at all to stay in one room. We had one extra bed and one king size bed which was relly huge (at least big enough for 3 persons). The view was great. The staff of the hotel is extremely friendly, the breakfast is very good, the location close to the Patpong night market is also very good. There is only one little complaint: The pool and area around the pool is very small, but ok for a little swim. At any time we would go to Sofitel again.

Unique Quality: It comprises of 454 rooms and suites, elegantly furnished and decorated to emphasize comfort, privacy and luxury with spacious bathrooms to complete the hospitality in each room.

Some French luxury

Sofitel Silom offers a piece of French luxury in the middle of busy streets of Silom district in Bangkok. The location is excellent for business, but it is quite decent for tourists, too. There are a couple of skytrain stations nearby and taxis are plentiful.

When booking, remember to ask a room on the upper floors. We got promoted to executive rooms -- maybe due a toddler on board -- and both the room and the amenitities were excellent par none. The breakfast was sumptuous and massaged all right tastebuds. Do I need to mention the quality of service as the hotel is located in Thailand? Anyhow, it was genuinely friendly and very fast -- as you may had already guessed.

Sofitel is the Dogs B****ks iff you know what I mean.

I do alot of training programs and international clients always stay there and like the place. Decor is gret, rooms are airy and cool.

Near the centre of things - close to the river, close to the Pat Pong watch the bizarre world happen area, and the transport is good.

Make friends with as many of the staff as you can. Just show an interest in learning a bit of Thai with them and they will help you no end. Promise.

I'd say just go for it. Rooms are good enough, ad if you are a VTer you'll be out and about alot anyway.

Hope you have a great trip,
Ian
