Since we were a rather big group it was decided that we book one of their three bedroom units over booking 2 to 3 hotel rooms. Upon arrival at the airport, we did not have a hard time finding friendly their staff welcomed us. My only complaint was that their driver who transported us was a bit of a fast driver. Once a the hotel the check in was quick and we were soon escorted to our room. The unit was very nice and had a small kitchen complete with a stove, refrigerator, and kitchen implements. There was also two bathrooms and a living room with a plasma TV and a DVD player. The room was clean and it looked like it was newly refurbished. Bedrooms were also nice though their high pillows were a bit hard getting used to.

This hotel's location offer both good and bad news for travelers. The good news is that it's about a kilometer away from the main road you won't be disturbed by passing traffic as you sleep. The bad news is it's a bit far from the nearest Skytrain or subway station. They do offer a tuk-tuk service to within a 5 minute walk of the stations but you will need to walk when coming back which could be hard after a day of sightseeing and shopping. It is also within a few minutes walk of a few convenience stores in case you're in the mood for a late snack.

Their buffet breakfast service had a great variety of foods from fried eggs and sausages to fresh fruit to porridge. Their staff were also on hand to serve you either coffee or tea and not much else.

Overall my stay at the hotel was a pleasant one. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was clean and newly renovated.

Unique Quality: Indoor and outdoor pool
    Convenience store
    Gym
    Game Room

    Great Family Apartment

    by

Check out their website for more pictures. Price is affordable & reasonable with breakfast too. The 2-bedrooms are great for family with children. Come with full kitchen facilities. They also provide washing machine with dryer function. 1 nite for USD100.

Unique Quality: We liked the indoor swimming pool.

Somerset Lake Point?

by mavlee

I need to find a service apartment that can cater for my big family during my one-week holiday and would like it to be near to a skytrain station and shopping mall. I am looking at Somerset Lake Point apartment, anyone one has experience staying there? How long does it take to walk to the nearest BTS station and shopping malls? Or anyone can recommend any other service apartments? Thanks!!

I am a resident of Bangkok(New Zealander) and live across the street from Somerset Lake Apartments. They are very nice and well located. It is a 5 minute walk to BTS. You will be in the centre of Sukhumvit and close to all shopping centres via BTS.I think your family would find staying there very comfortable.
