Economical yet 3 Star Hotel, Clean & helpful staff

Hi there,
We are now in Bangkok and these is the second visit in three years. We are staying at the Swiss Park Hotel which is quite central and 2 mins. walk to the BTS station and everything is walking distance. What we would advise you is try to book through internet as my husband and I got an excellent rate, we pay equal to U.S.$60.00 per night with fairly decent breakfast. From the airport to Swiss Park hotel it costs us 400 Baht plus you need to pay 0.50 for the free way toll, the traveling time duration is about 20 mins.
Have a great time here in Bangkok, enjoy the shopping spree. the yummy food, but again we would advise you to wear a moneybelt, as I think Bangkok is starting to smell like the melting pot of the world...so, just a ball but use pre-caustion so you would not experience being pick-pocketed here...(mind you that any big city everyone will encounter pick-pocketers...Have a ball here in Bangkok.

Unique Quality: For the 5 nights we stayed here, they would change the towels daily, breakfast is decent for the charges, location is so central.

Great on a budget

Its definitely not the nicest place and if you have some money then don't bother really. Great location. Honestly, if they built a really nice hotel here, I probably wouldn't ever stay anywhere else in Bangkok. Having said that, I stayed here when I had limited funds. About $30 per night. The rooms are a bit old and the showers are hit and miss. Nothing really bad though. Had a fun stay here. Staff was immensely friendly. People smiled quite a bit. No internet service that I could remember. But internet cafe's close by. The continental breakfast was way better than expected for this price range and the view from your window is usually quite nice.

Small hotel in Sukhumvit

This lovely hotel with 108 rooms is good located in soi11 Sukhumvit and is a neighbour of the Ambassador hotel. Everything is on a small size. The lobby and lounge on ground flor , the pool and the restaurant on the 7th floor. The rooms are compact, only the executives rooms offer siting area, the most incredible is the toilet without noise, the same of the best hotel like Gd Hyatt Erawan or Mandarin Oriental in San Franscico. I have good food and good service in this compact hotel (for Bangkok).

Unique Quality: Good location, toilet without noise.

Another good value hotel in Sukhumvit

Although the area around Nana and Asoke stations has a lot of good value budget hotels, in many ways this is best one I've stayed in. It is very convenient for Nana Station, but far enough way from the main road to be away from the noise. The rooms are very good but the access corridors are a bit shabby and the reception area is not too great. Also the breakfast is definitely not one of it's strong points. Also the room I stayed seemed to be near where the cleaning staff got thier equipment in the morning and they weren't particularly quiet.

Unique Quality: Very good value for money. A double room costs about 1000/1200 baht per night.

Great location for Bangkok Hotel

Didn't stay at this place but when and had a look at it. It is only brand new (two months old in June 2004) and is in a fantastic location. It is located behind the Westin Hotel which is next door to Robinsons Dept Store in Sukhumvit. It is a two minute walk to the Asok skytrain station. While we were there the rate was 1500 bht with an offer of pay for 3 nights and get the 4th night free. We had a look at one of the room and it was very nice, a bit bigger than your average hotel room and very well decorated. They have a website that you can search for.
