No AC + Bad customer service

The worst hotel and the most expensive compared with the rest of the hotels. It’s more expensive and it doesn’t offer a good value for your money, AT ALL. The small room is tiny and not recommended. The 2nd size room is OK but a lot more expensive than the neighbor, SilQ Hotel. If you want space and you go for the their biggest room you would be paying A LOT MORE that you would pay for one night at the Chateau de Bangkok or even Fraser Suites, and in both cases, you get a suite (bedroom, living room AND a full kitchen) compared to a simple room with Jacuzzi in Fusion Hotel.

Now to the hotel itself: the rooms are nice, the bed is very hard, the shower is a complete mess (they have only a tiny glass next to your shower, so expect water all over the bathroom after you shower, very inconvenient for the 2nd person!)

The breakfast is a continental breakfast, nothing spectacular.

And the absolute worst part is the staff. The worst I’ve seen in a LONG time (and if you read my comments, you should know that I stay in hotels about 80% of my time and I’m an easy going person) but this group were BAD.

We had a problem with the air conditioning, it didn’t work the 1st night, it took them several hours to fix it, the following morning. Then it broke again the 2nd night. They couldn’t fix it until the next morning, so we slept with a FAN (remember, this is a VERY hot part of the world, and we come from Maine!). The following morning and after they were not able to fix it, we had to move to another room, a total inconvenience. After my husband complaint for the situation, the manager told us that he was going to waive that night. When we check out, they charged us the full price for all the nights! We asked to talk to the manager and he told us “of course I am not going to waive anything, this things happen and if we waive the nights for every time something like this happens we wouldn’t make any money! No hotel in the world would do that, not even a 5 star hotel would waive completely one night!” Basically, all we got for sleeping without air conditioning for 2 nights AND having to move to another room was a “I’m sorry” that wasn’t even a sincere one.

Bottom line, we were going to stay an extra 10 nights and we said no go, let’s run out of this hotel as soon as possible!

Unique Quality: horrible customer service, stay away from this place... looks cute but it's not a good stay...

For general merchandise, MBK Center is always popular. If around during a weekend, head up to Chatuchak Weekend Market.

For clothing, try Pratunam of Bobae.

Travel Tips for Bangkok

Khao San Rd

by aussiejen

A trip to Bangkok wouldn't be complete without a visit to Khao San Rd.
We only managed to get here once, at night. There were people everywhere, eating, drinking and just wandering around checking out the shops and stalls.
Lots of food vendors means plenty of choice. Everything looked very yummy, but because we had already had dinner before we got there all we could fit in was a banana roti. It was very nice :) So was the Mai Tai I had further down the road.

CHEAP Alcohol

by ShirlyZ

Go to Khao Sarn Road at night -- store
s named: VERY STRONG COCKTAILS...The cocktails were like the hawkers' name "VERY STRONG!" IF you wanna get drunk, please come to this store & get as many cup as u can cos it only cost 60 Baht (RM6) per cup.

Phad Thai Heaven

by syllybabe

Every few steps on Khao San Road you'll see food vendors selling everything from the truly different (fried grasshoppers) to your usual Thai fare like Phad Thai. Ordering something that looked really good then having to run to the nearest restaurant to buy a drink because it was toooooo hot it almost burned my tongue!

Sawasdee!

by yen_2

A Bow with two hands together which you will put your hands infront of your chin! And say" Sawasdee!" Its a sign of respect in Thailand and people here always used that in their everyday lives!

Most of the people are very smiling, friendly, specially when you have babies with you. They're very close to babies and I think they love babies!

Most of the people can communicate with the medium of instruction which is English but if they can't say it properly, they can only understand you. In Thailand, everybodies heads are sacred so be aware not to touch their heads! Be respectful in terms of their King as they have a strong respect in it.

Try to avoid those tuk-tuks, taxi driver's in the night time as many of them will charge you hardly. If possible, ride with their BTS Sky Train.

Enjoy Thailand!

Climate

by keeweechic

Thailand’s tropical climate is influenced by the southwest and northeast monsoons. There are three seasons: Dry (November through March), Hot (April through May) and Rainy (June through October).
