Issues on Safety?

by qiqi87

Hi,

Would like to check if it's safe to travel to Bangkok at the end of this July?

Cheers,
Qi

Re: Issues on Safety?

Not being able to predict the future Thailand should be safe to travel in July since it is safe to travel right now! Even during the protests tourists were still flying to Thailand by the thousands! Protests are over and things are pretty much back to normal!

Unless a gigantic meteor strikes or some sort of unusual thing happens your trip should be okay. (Odd things could also happen anywhere in the world screwing up the plans of millions of people!)

If someone from a different country asks if it is safe for them to visit your country in the future what would you say?

July is low season for hotel pricing, many frequent travelers to Thailand prefer this time of year to visit.

Enjoy your trip to Thailand.

There is nothing happening in Bangkok at the moment, other than daily rain storms. You might want o wear cheap shoes!

Issues on Safety?

It's safe to come, but you should have a Vaccine antibody before about 10 day you come here for just to prevent the flu, go see a doctor he will tell you what you need.
or you can ask me more about Thailand at my e-mail.

You will find that your trip to Bangkok is a whole lot safer than most of the other big cities you have been to.
Even during the demonstrations, besides sporadic traffic congestion and the closure of a couple of main shopping centers, Bangkok was very safe indeed for tourists. No worries at all.

Travel Tips for Bangkok

Tut-tut

by hassan_abu

Riding the Tut-tut is the most unforgetable experience in Bangkok.
They are cheap, convenient and fast. They managege to snake in and out of the heavy Bankok traffic with no problems at all I am not actually the driver, I do not dare to try one of these things in a traffic like Bangkok ..

Cooking in Style!

by shrimp56

Please check out the market and cooking class travelogues for more pictures -- what was nice was that the ingredients were pre-measured and laid out for us -- we also had both the regular view of the instructor's table but a wonderful overhead mirror. [Note: the 2 pictures show the ingredients for different dishes.] The cooking class at The Blue Elephant was a genuine highlight of my brief stay in Bangkok!

Go to the weekend market, if you are in Bangkok on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. What ever you do, do not miss this place, the skytrain will take you right there. There are over 10,000 yes 10,000 different stores here. These squirels are pets.

The Do's and Don'ts of Shoes

by keeweechic

It is alright to wear shoes when you are walking around the grounds of a Buddhist temple, but not inside the chapel where the Buddha image is kept. Females should also ensure that their shoulders and legs are covered before they enter the temple. Please be respectful and do not wear shorts.

Packing List

by paulmacn

A big one with plenty of space. Hiking Bangkok has such a diverse range and quality of shopping that it is better to leave your own stuff at home and to buy it here. There are Western shops where you can buy the expensive designer gear or plenty of stalls where good quality conterfeits are available.
