Any hotel between Sukhumvit soi 4 and soi 21. Prices range between $40-$300+. Depends what you are looking for ;-)

I, and many others, feel the Dynasty Inn Grande or Darwin (owned by Dynasty) offer a good hotel at a fair price. I usually get the upgraded room.

It is on Soi 6 which is off soi 4 the heart of the entertainment districe. It is very close, but far enough to be quiet.

The current promotion is 1800 Bt. per night. http://www.dynastygrande.com/

How much do you want to spend on a hotel room?

Landmark Hotel is pretty good!

If you are only interested in massage shops and bars you will find them cheaper in Pattaya, also cheaper hotels and transportation. Crappy beach for swimming though!

Depends on your budget.....the Dream Hotel is a short walk to all of the night spots in bangkok. I have stayed there twice and like it very much!

Try all the food! never mind if it's spicy, it's the greatest thing i've ever tasted. :) food, food and those small kiosks where i can buy anything little thing... just beside the office... small pica-pica....

Weekend Market at Chatuchak

by SirRichard

A highly recommended activity on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8am to 8pm. To get there use the new BTS sky train: take Sukhumwit Line, stop at Mor Chit Station, (the last one) and ask as you go out the station . A typicall oriental market, having from handicraft to all kinds of animas, food, clothes or plants...

The religion in Thailand

by georeiser

Religion has an important part in life for many people in Thailand. And Buddhism is the main religion. Praying and sacrificing with incense and flowers are ways of showing respect to god. Take of your shoes when you enter a temple, never point at Thai people with your feet and be careful if you touch their head.

Religion

by shiran_d

The remainder of the population adheres to lslam, Christianity, Hinduism and other faiths - all of which are allowed full freedom of expression. Buddhism continues to cast strong influence on daily life. Senior monks are highly revered. Thus, in towns and villages, the temple (wat) is the heart of social and religious life.
Meditation, one of the most popular aspects of Buddhism, is practiced regularly by numerous Thai as a means of promoting inner peace and happiness. Visitors, too, can learn the fundamentals of this practice at several centres in Bangkok and elsewhere in the country.

Packing List

by Bjorgvin

Bring light cotton clothes to wear most of the time, sweater for a chilly evening, an umbrella in case of rain, good walking shoes, bathing suit, sunscreen and mosquito repellent. All this is easy to obtain in Thailand though. Clothes are very cheap over there so it is OK to pack light.
