The most beautiful of the Luxury Hotels would have to be The Oriental! It has quite a rich history too and you can still have afternoon tea in the old wing where Josef Conrad and Somerset Maugham stayed.

Actually, I stayed at the Montien Hotel, it was more affordable for me than the Oriental, but it was still dreamy to go to the Oriental for Tea or a drink in the bamboo bar!

I think Pathumwan Princess Hotel would be ideal with kids
Attached to MBK Centre. Great strores to shop in air conditioned comfort
Great food court
and a whole floor for kids movie theater, arcade games, internet.

Hello...

Most hotels are in downtown, there are many places to interesting for you and your family. Alright I would like to recommend The Siam Heritage Boutique Suites Hotel Bangkok which there are rooms for family. The room decorate boutique hotel and it is near many restuarants, bar ,club and shopping mall. Anyway, if you like the hotel is serviced apartment style which the price is cheaper than hotel. I like to you look Fraser Place Urbana Langsuan Bangkok and Unico Grande Silom Hotel Bangkok. These hotels are fully facilities & 24 security for the customers.

I hope this information helping , Have nice trip in Thailand.

We stay at the Grand China Princess in Chinatown, and the kids love it there. Depends on the age of the kids, and whether you or they want a cultural experience, or have access to all the trappings of Western living. Thats not our choice on holidays.

Hotels Silom road

by azhuria

Can anyone recommend a budget hotel on Silom road?

Is the Narai any good or the triple two silom?

RE: Hotels Silom road

by pmarshuk

Not stayed at either of those but I did stay at the Tower Inn on Silom once.
The public area were not very inspiring and the corridors were quite dark, but the rooms were very good and very large. In fact they were realy a spacious studio with a good sized seating area away from the bed.
I see that it has now changed its name to the Unico Grande Silom, not sure what else might have changed also

If Narai falls within your budget, then I think it's really good hotel by itself and its location.

Sofitel Silom road was indeed nice, but check online price if you can get really good deal for the dates you need.

I stayed myself in both of mentioned hotels and was satisfied.

The maps of maps

There are plenty of maps
of Bangkok out there.

But one of the most comprehensive
and detailed ones is
the one by Nancy Chandler which,
can be bough at every other book store.

The map comes along with a small index guide book.

The price at the time I purchased it 180 Bahts.

You can also visit their web-site at:

Songkhran

This event is over a few days in april the hotest and dryest month.......it is normally over a few days but once in Pattaya a few years ago it went on for 2 weeks........
Basically the whole country erupts into big water fights............you will wherever you are get wet in doors or outside...........don't bother changing into dry clothes you will just get wet again even battles rage while driving down the road and accident rates go up.
Its mad but fun and if you think it will annoy you after a while then miss this time of year or stay in your hotel room.................thats exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Temple is not the beach.

by zazatann

For the Buddhist, going to the temple is quite special thing for us to do. We believe that there’re many angels or good spirits protect the monastery. We will not do anything to find it as disrespect way to the place. Even though some area of the temple is nice and cool to lay down and take a nap but try not to do please because it doesn’t look nice for when a hundred of people come to pray and walk pass you. We feel like you’re relaxing on the beach….

Keeping fit in Bangkok

by balisunshine

Several large hotels in Bangkok
offer a gym to keep fit and tone
while traveling abroad.

One particular well equipped gym that
opens its doors to outsiders and just for the day
is Fitness First located at several locations.

There are gym machines to work every single muscle
and classes from 6:30 am till 8:30 pm offering
Body Jam; Body Combat; Body Pump; Abs; and the list goes on.

The gym is available to outsiders
for 800 Bahts the day.

So, if all that eating Thai food
got you in the need to burn all those calories
come and spend the day at the gym.
