The neat thai style guesthouse
Thanks very much for the recommendation and help from VT member Guantanamera. I find this guesthouse with the exact needed taste and atmosphere, also helps me to get away from the noisy Khao San Road.
I am very lucky to get a single room with only 200B(on sale due to the low season for travelling), which is very clean and comfortable to stay with.

Banglamphu Guest House
In Bangkok's Banglamphu area the Wild Orchid has so far been the nicest guesthouse i've stayed in. It's a bit more upmarket than your usual Khao San Road dump, but if you can share a double it's quite reasonable.
Quiet, modern doubles with air con and attached bathroom cost 550 Baht. The rooms are spacious enough and very clean. Smaller doubles with shared bathrooms go for 300 Baht and the communal bathroms are excellent.
The guesthouse also offers a smart communal area for people watching and drinking, and they have good, if pricey Thai food.
