Chistmas in Thailand
"Cha-am"
Our base while in Thailand was Cha-am, we stayed in the Regency Chalet. Just right for us good food, nice pool right on the beach a great place to relax after a day out. The staff could not be more helpful. If you are in the area a visit to Hua Hin night market is a must, it covers two streets starts at six ends mid-night at the many eateries you can choose your favourite fish, watch it been cooked then eat delicious.
We went to experience an alternative Christmas, in the end Christmas day was the most Christmassy for many years, the Thai’s just love to please.
"River Kwai"
One of the highlights was the trip to the River Kwai and the Death Railway, my father in-law spent some time as POW of the Japanese so it was a bit of a pilgrimage.
It was a long day but well worth it. A lot has changed in 60 years most of the jungle has gone and been replaced by plantations.

Me 'n' Topsy on the tracks.
