Ao Prao Resort: Best Hotel in Kho Samet

by nigelvc

I booked my trip through http://www.hotelthailand.com.au and stayed for 3 days - ferry ride direct to the hotel and everything was prepared for our arrival.
It is an unspoilt place - clean and friendly

Beach is on your doorstep, Water is clear and unpolluted, there are fish everywhere in 5 meter from the shoreline - it is in a bay so very smooth water.

KP Grand: Chanthaburi's KP Grand Hotel

by WaRPer

18-Storey, considered Chanthaburi's largest and only 5-star hotel. Located within a walking distance to 'downtown' and markets. The hotel has a swimmong pool, fitness room, conference facilities, sauna, Thai massage, Karaoke, Coffeshop and a Chinese restaurant.

Rooms are basic but clean, with cable TV and a fridge.
The staff are very kind, helpfull and informative.

Fisherman's Village Resort: Fisherman's Village

Located on the beachfront of Haad Chao Samran in rural Phetchaburi province, it is just one and a half hours drive south of Bangkok, and mid-way to the popular beach town of Hua-Hin.

Fisherman's Village Resort offers villas, and luxury villas.

Each villa boasts a high level of privacy, air-conditioning, television and mini-bar, its own private deck and stylish open-air shower.

Thail House Beach Resort: Koh Samui's best hotel

by 1ashvanrooyen

The hotel was stunning!!! The staff friendly, situated right on the beach, perfect swimming, beautiful rooms. Amazing breakfasts every morning. We will definitely stay here again.

The pool was amazing, however the sea was just as good. The view too was awesome.

Koh Mak Villa: Best in Mak?

by kimmo_v

We had two floors studio, which was superb! Facilities; a/c, shower, toilet with awesomw views towards the sea, kitchenette, massage room and king-size bed.

The views are astonishing and the host, Mr.Pair, will help you anyway he can.

Golden Beach Hotel: Prachuap Khiri Khan: Golden Beach Hotel

by Myndo

located at the Suan Son Beach, that lies in the north of the small city of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The Hotel is a 2 story building, quite new. 20 Rooms with air condition.
The rooms were very clean, the view on the site at the mirror mountain very pleasant.
600 Baht for the room per night.

When we were there (January 2006) they were building in the back of the hotel, most probably an extension. We did not hear any noise from the building site, though.

Directly in front is the beach that was really deserted when we were there (obviously not weekend).
Good for swimming.
Nearby are some excellent fish and seafood restaurants, but if you have wheels, go into the city itself and to the night/food market. It´s much cheaper, fun and very good food.

Chitanun Guesthouse: Kanchanaburi: Chitanun, central, but quiet

by Myndo

Kanchanaburi offers a wide range of accomodations and you will have no problems finding something that suits you. Initially we wanted to try Apples Guesthouse, but they were full, as was the Jolly Frog Backpackers.
So we found this Guesthouse here, also located at the Mae Nam (or Menam or Maenam) Kwae Road, where most accomodations (at least those for Backpackers) are.

The Chitanun Guesthouse has several double-Bungalows that are set back from the noisy street.
Some have air condition and hot water, others fan and only cold water.
Both kinds are clean and well kept, but nothing special.

At the road itself they have the reception and a small restaurant.

New Siam II Guesthouse: Bangkok: New Siam II, close to Khao San Road

by Myndo

The Hotel was recommended to me, when I asked on VT for a reasonably priced, quiet and clean place to stay close to the Khao San Road.

And I can say it was all that.

The cost for the Room was 750 Baht per night.
It has a TV, fridge, air condition (the fan rooms are 100 Baht cheaper)
Doublebed - but Twins are also available.
The shower has Hot Water
The Toilet is western stile.
Breakfast not included, but you can have it at a reasonably price in the Guesthouse Restaurant as well.

Quite close to Khao San Road. You just walk through some quiet backstreets and arrive there in less than 10 minutes.

I personally would not want to stay directly at Khao San Road, because of the street noise (cars, sellers, lots of bars and tourists), but being close was nice, for shopping and looking around.

I also liked, that I was able to make the reservation via email.
On their homepage they also have a map (also in Thai) to print out - for the Taxi. I would propose you do so, since our taxidriver did not look as if he found it else :-)
