Nice private pool villa with wonderful restaurant
Of course best part is you get your own pool (10M long) which is quite large compared to some of the other pool villas in the country. But we swam more in the main pool where there was absolutely no one. Furnitures are of not so good quality. Service was attentive and the high end menu in the restaurant (they have 2 menus and called it 2 restaurants in the same physical location) was delicious but expensive. The only complaint (and the reason I would never go back) is that there was a mouse in the bathroom and at night there were other mice running around above the ceiling... We had a buy 2 get 1 free night promotion at the time so made the price really reasonable (avg usd250 nett for 3 people) (I stayed here end of 06 but only write now as I'm writing other tips... hehehe)

hua hin's best resort
My wife and I stayed at this resort the last two summers and were coming back this summer too. On our first arrival the first time we go a bit of a shock as it seemed so far from the town.
That feeling was soon replaced by happiness by the beauty of the place with the lush planting and chic style of the pool and bar area. We had a 2 bedroom villa with our own pool which is fantastic. We dont have kids so to be at a resort so peacefull and calm was what we wanted and its is truely zen. We got the shuttle bus into the town every other night to eat at the great restaurants by the pier and then onto the pubs and clubs of the town and after our fill of dance and drink we got a taxi home each night for aprox 3.50 euro cant remember the bath rate.This year im hoping to play some golf as the new Black Mountain Golf Club has opened up the road.
Unique Quality: style,pool,mountain views,michelin standard food.

prepaid phone card
it's only my second time in thailand, so pls bear with my simple question. is there such thing as prepaid mobile phone sim card available? if so, where can i buy them? they work on 2G phones?
anyone knows how much taxi would cost going from town to AKA resort 5km past the elephant village?
any suggestions for a 3 day trip in hua hin?
all ideas are appreciated! thanks!

sim cards and pre paid,,,yes can get them eveywhere,,711 has them and all the mobile shops sell them...hua hin,,,nice beach there,,,golf,,shoppings not bad,,there is a good fish market in town..heaps of shellfish and funny looking crayfish,,things,,,they are not crayfish,,,but the taste is similar,,the thai name for these things is gung,,CHOOKE DEE

beware of the sims from 7/11 i bought one and the young thia girl at the counter did not know how to register it thus it did not work.
I had to buy another at a mobile phone shop and it was done in seconds.
best to check if they know how to do it before buying.
