I booked this hotel on the net after reading lots of reviews of many Hua Hin hotels. It got very confusing but I'm so glad I chose Baan Duangkaew.
I much prefer to stay in smaller hotels and this one was just perfect.
There are only 19 bungalows, all with huge kingsize beds.
We stayed in bungalow 219 at the end of the property. Perfect! Away from any road noises.
There are 2 swimming pools, enough sun beds and plenty of towels beside the pool.
Breakfast was included in the price.

I stayed here in Feb. 2004 for almost a week - it's not right on the beach, but it's only a few minutes' walk away. Great if you want to get a bit of exercise strolling along the beach into town (about half an hour's walk, though a bit longer if you stop for a beer on the way ;).
The room was a nice enough size and there was a little porch outside overlooking the pool. There's no safety deposit box in the room, but it didn't seem to matter given that it's a bit out of town. A kitchen cooks nice little meals if you want something before you head out for the afternoon (or can't be bothered going out into town in the evening).

This cabin style resort has certainly made my stay in Hua Hin really enjoyable. It is a 10min ride by the taxi from the town centre, but it had the absolute tranquility I wanted! The beach is also a short walk away. There were only 12 cabins available when I was there but a couple more under construction. The best thing is definitely the pool smacked right in the middle! I literally woke up in the morning and ran right into the pool as it was in front of our cabin - or the rest of the cabins even. Each cabin is tastefully done, very clean with high ceilings. The only down point is that the bathroom is a standup shower. Hotel staff are very friendly and do their best to help you. Rent a bicycle, and explore the surroundings. the cabins surround the pool which meant waking up a jumping right in!
