Bazaar
by syllybabe
It seems there's never a lack of markets and bazaars selling all kinds of knick knacks and clothes.
Hua Hin's bazaar is at the end of Damnoen Kasem before you reach the beach.
This must have been a particularly slow night for the vendors. They were sitting around watching TV since there were no tourists buying their wares.
Bus
by M.E.R.V
Getting to Hua Hin fast and cheap is easy! The Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok has regular buses in between both cities. All the buses go to Pranburi cos via Cha-Am and Hua Hin, so don't miss your stop, but even if you do Pranburi is almost similar so no harm. The run every 30mins from day to night and it takes approximately 3 hours each way! Very fast and quite comfortable and so much cheaper than the plane which would have taken us the same time! The ticket only costs us BH128 each person and the ride includes a free bottle of water! Hahaha!

Khao Takiab - Chinese Shrine
by aberacadabra
The proper translation of Khao Takiab means "Chopsticks Hill", but to foreigners, it's known as Monkey Hill in English due to the large monkey population here.
Below Wat Khao Takiab, down the slope from the car park, behind the monkey pens/cages and the meditation room, is a large chinese shrine dedicated to Chao Mae Kuan Im, the chinese goddess of mercy.
This truly is a large shrine with chinese features and the statues of Chao Mae Kuan Im and other chinese deities were built facing the sea.
Hua Hin, like many other coastal settlements in South East Asia, had long been a magnet to Chinese seafarers and settlers and this shrine is a testament to Hua Hin's long association with the Chinese.
