Hua Hin Forum

I had not noticed how quiet the Hua Hin Forum is here, I had not come across it for such a long time, I hope we can get more forum questions and answers going for Hua Hin.

Re: Hua Hin Forum

My husband and I are in our mid fifities but we do like live music, nice bars and good food to enjoy in the evening, We are coming to Hua Hin in July. Will we find enough evening entertainment to enjoy during our two weeks.
Also some are reporting that it is expensive in Hua Hin. How do prices compare to Patong Beach?

Re: Hua Hin Forum

by sarahreynold

I cannot imagine why anyone would think it could be more expensive than Patong ! Drink prices in the bars are certainly cheaper in Hua Hin, I can have a cocktail from 80 or 100 Baht, a beer ranges around 50 Baht, night market prices in Hua Hin are low, in particular at the weekend night at Grand Plaza. Hua Hin caters for the majority of visitors who are Thai and that means prices have to be compatatble.
Certainly tuk tuks are cheap in Hua Hin compared to Patong, also there is good public transport available from pick up buses that are 10 baht a journey, so on that score also a great deal cheaper. Accommodation I think is also good value.

You won't kthough of the subject of nightlife find anything like Patong's Soi bangla in Hua Hin ! There are several sois with bars, plenty of restaurants and several places with live music like the Hua hin Brewery at the Hilton hotel, disco pub at the City Beach and some cabaret style shows.

Travel Tips for Hua Hin

Breakfast scenes at Sofitel

by syllybabe

Enjoy a long, leisurely breakfast at Sofitel's poolside either under this thai structure, inside the airconditioned comfort of the glassed in gazebo, or outside under white parasols with a view of the beach and the sea breeze blowing your hair.

Hua Hin to Ko Samet

by bulldogtwo

This question was just posted a couple weeks ago. From what I remember, no one knew of a boat. Having said that, we're talking Thailand and with enough money you can get almost anything done. It would seem that this would be the simplest way but I don't know of anyone that does it. If that can not be done then yes, you would have to go back to Bnagkok and then on to Pattaya. I am unaware of any other way.
Good luck!

Starbucks clone next to the beach

by nomadig about World News Coffee

If you are accustomed to get daily dose of coffee from Starbucks (or similar), you need to walk quite a bit from Hua Hin beach to find the local dealer next to the clock tower. Fortunately, there is an alternative next to Hua Hin Hilton: World News Coffee.

The joint is operated by Hilton, and offers the same kind of stuff as Starbucks. The exact roasts, blends and other tidbits might not be identical, but probably you wouldn't notice any difference in a blind test.

There is also quite inexpensive internet connection available from the PCs in a corner. WLAN is available as well, but for some odd reason the price is five times higher.

Wat Huay Mongkol

by aberacadabra

Prachuab Khiri Khan province is considered to be the gateway to the South, and the legendary Southern Thai monk, Luang Phor Thuad is immensely popular with the Southern Thais and increasingly, elsewhere in Thailand for the miracles associated with him.

Commissioned by the Queen of Thailand, Wat Huay Mongkol houses the largest statue of Luang Phor Thuad in the world in a park-like setting that attracts large numbers of visitors especially on holidays and weekends.

The Luang Phor Thuad image sits on a pedestal with four other smaller images in niches where the faithful pastes gold-leaf in honour of Luang Phor Thuad.

Wat Huay Mongkol is 13km west of Hua Hin (same road as to Pala-U waterfalls). There are adequate road signs that will lead you there. Best to drive there.

"~SkY afTeR mOnsOon~"

The day when has monsoon, is the worst day when you are at the beach. You won't be able swim, sunbathe or whatever that you would like to do.

Have you ever think? After the monsoon what will you meet. You will meet something that beatiful something that different day, gray sky become blue sky.

Not different from human life, when the sorrow passes by, your feeling will be better too.

From the picture is above, is shown to a brave of the small ships which able sail among the monsoon as long as they can. It's the same as the human life, if everyone accepts with your problems and fights with them, you will be steadfast by yourself.
