We're currentlly staying at the Hua Hin Hilton, beautiful Hotel and location, right on the bay. Next door to us are a bunch of Villas, which look interesting, self contained, each with a private pool or spa pool. Set in lovely grounds, again right on the beach with everything within 300 metres, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars etc.I think they are called the Sofitel Villas and Resort. But Google them in. There's plenty of accommodation in Hua Hin. It's been a hidden gem as far as we're concerned. Pattaya without the sleaze (well some sleaze but not so dominant, more discreet) It's a place where a lot of Thais come to, but moreso, westerners now. We have lunch everyday on the beach at stall No. 5 and the cook allowed me to cook salt & pepper squid yesterday. Great spot and highly recommended. Lunch with beers is around 300THB ($9AUD)for two.Hua Hin will be our annual vacation from hereon in

Travel Tips for Hua Hin

Monkey beside the bay...

by yen_2

There were many of this sites in the Khao Takiab Hill along the monastery run by monks. you can take pictures of this hungry monkies running around! The backdrop of the pic is the bay..it's really pretty and amazing in there..You can relax and refresh for awhile before you get ready to climb back to the main entrance.

I've seen many monkies around. If you like, you can play with them and give them something to eat like bananas which you can buy from the care takers..It's fun though...

Hua Hin Temple

by Wann

In central of Hua Hin town, maybe visitors have never noticed there is a quiet place located. All around outside the temple are mostly the busy places as stalls, shops and many walkways and streets ring the temple, quite busy and crowded even at night, right beside the temple is a nightspot and walking street. So if you want to feel more peaceful, away from tourist track, visit the temple will be a great idea.

Romantic Dinner on the Beach

by paleypei

Couples would probably like this set up on the beach. The torches reminds me of Tribal Council of Survivor though. It gets a bit dark on the beach, and the wind was strong. Mosquito repellent is a must.

As I was with my female friend, I thought it was a bit weird for us dining on the beach. But since the staff had already set up the tables while we were away for our massage, we did not want to inconvenience them again. Hence we joint 3 other couples for this dinner affair. For appetizer, I chose a riverprawn with spicy lime dressing. It was a bit too spicy for my liking, but the prawns were very fresh. The main dish was Chicken with avocado and mango salsa sauce. The mixes of the sauces were a bit weird for my liking. But I like the dessert most. Crispy fried banana with Vanilla ice-cream.

Horse riding on the beach of Hua Hin

by georeiser

A typical view in the beach of Hua Hin is all the horses. You can rent a horse and take a ride alone or with help from the owner. This is original and fun. It's also not too expensive. The only bad thing about this is all the horse poo on the beach...

Kho Takiab White Beach

by yen_2

Kho Takiab or Khao Takiab has a white beaches that goes through the area. It's a prominent hill at the South end of Hua Hin Beach. The Khao Takiab means Chopsticks Hill has a temples on the top renowed for it's meditation for monks and pratitioners alike. There are 2 ways to go up either you can climb up the steep stair case or you can let your driver take you up from the beach. From there, you can go up from the very very steep stairs which we didn't tried(were with baby)! I'll mention those temples and everything as we go through this page...;-)
