5 star beach hotel Hua Hin

The Hyatt Regency is located right on the beach at the South beach end of Hua Hin's long main beach, close to Khao Takiab. The Hyatt has extensive grounds and very large pools. The prices at the restaurants is quite reasonable. There is as expected a high standard of service, as you would expect from a Hyatt Regency. ideal for families and couplies, the Regency Club is very good value compared with other hotels and resorts in this class. the Hyatt Hua Hin also has the Barai Spa and barai Suites.

Unique Quality: Extensive grounds, excellent service and a superb new spa. The beach here I think is better than nearer to town. The Hyatt Regency Hua Hin is also close to some of Hua Hin's best restaurants and also quite close to Takiab Bay which is an excellent beach area, about 5 minutes past the Hyatt Regency.

Relaxing tattoo trip

I stayed in Hua Hin Hyatt Hotel which is a nice hotel with swimming and water slide. Good breakbast buffet, kids club, services and staffs are friendly. I would recommend this hotel to others.

However, guest need to take transportation to the town/night market. They charge about US2.5 per taxi.

Unique Quality: I would recommend request a room which is located on ground floor level near the pool.

Hua Hin Hotels

by sarahreynold about Hua Hin Hotels from Budget to Luxury

There are many Hua Hin Hotels and resorts from cheap budget Hua Hin hotels and guesthouse accommodation thru to luxury beach hotel and beach resorts. Most Hua Hin hotels are right on the beach, you can see the Hua hin hotel photos including the Sofitel, Hua Hin Hilton, Hyatt Regency Hua Hin, the Hua Hin Marriott resort, the Anantara Resort, there are also smaller Hua Hin Hotels and resorts such as Kaban Tamor and Tanao Sri that are on the beach. The Chom View Suites and Holiday Apartments are south of the center, right on the beach. South of Hua Hin is Khao Takiab where you can find the Takiab Hotel and the Bluewave hotel and the Anantasila. In the town there are other hotels like the Grand Hua Hin hotel and the City Beach Hotel. The Anantara Resort is a few km north of the center of Hua Hin but is a very nice beach resort in Thai style, with a spa also. The new Sofitel Centara Villas near the Hilton Hotel and offers Pool Villas in gardens that are very pleasant and suited to those who want a more natural and quiet location with their own beach bungalow. The Evason resort is actually in Pranburi which is about 30 km south of Hua Hin but is also on the beach.
Discount rates for Hua Hin Hotels are quite reasonable, especially between May and October the discount hotel rates are cheap compared with many other places. There are Hua Hin hotel photos. Lots of choices from fine luxury Hua Hin hotels and resorts to budget hotels

Really Disappointed at Hyatt Hua Hin

by TripAdvisor Member barbaraGeneva

We planned a trip to the beach in Thailand, but my partner didn't want to fly from Bangkok. So we found Hua Hin, within easy driving distance from Bangkok. My favorite hotels in Asia are Hyatt Hotels (Hong Kong, Singapore), so I thought the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin was a good bet. Wrong. The entry looks good, but the hotel itself is more like the Dusit Laguna in Phuket. The place is practically new but already the rooms are bordering on shabby. And unlike the Dusit Laguna, the Hyatt Regency front-office staff was remarkedly NOT helpful--not helpful about the surrounding area, not helpful about using internet, especially not helpful about getting around, even to Hua Hin, where depending who was on duty we were "obliged" to book a hotel limo (250 baht), not a regular town taxi (120-150 baht), for the short trip into town. When they did book a table for us at the best restaurant in town, they sent us out with the hotel limo and a driver who didn't have a clue where it was and who tried to leave us off at a furniture store. Back to the hotel itself--when we arrived at the Hotel, first thing we did was check out the (non-existant) hotel beach. We had been warned by the driver who took us from Bangkok (booked directly by us online--the NOT helpful HuaHin Hyatt Hotel staff couldn't even counsel us on how to get there from Bangkok). ***The Hua Hin Tourist Association (Information Point) was REALLY helpful***. AND warned us that the beach in Hua Hin is host to horses so beware horse excrement on the sand. Sure nuff. And no beachfront set-up at the Hyatt, no chairs in the sand and such, because the ocean comes right up to the property. So we had to make do with a swimming pool, a fabulous and spectacular pool but a pool nonetheless. So we decided to check out the poolside Mee and You Noodle Bar for lunch and there I had the WORST Pad-Thai I ever had, anywhere. And probably the most expensive. So we learnt that the hotel had neither beach nor decent food. We never ate at the hotel again. The room was ok, no view, small balcony, clean but with a disgusting throw rug, definitely shabby. The bath was the best thing about it. Certainly not worth the four-star rating. To be avoided if you have the choice. Go to Dolphin Bay or Khao Tak Ocean Resort instead for cheaper, with better food, and all-around nicer people and a better experience.

Excellent Pool area

by TripAdvisor Member Guvner

We stayed at the Hyatt for six nights and had a wonderful time there. The pool area is in our opinion one of the best in Hua Hin comprising of winding secluded canals that complement a larger pool which has a small sandy beach for children. The hotel is adjacent to the beach but there is really no reason to make use of it apart from taking walks which are wonderful in the early morning. There are construction works going on at the hotel at present towards the back of the hotel which are to be avoided because of the noise so make sure to demand a room away from this. I noted a complaint in the lobby desk by a couple who were kept awake all night but failed to ask to be moved. Breakfasts are very nice but are not varied from day to day as in many other hotels. All round an excellent choice if you should so wish to stay there.

Second stay as good as the first

by TripAdvisor Member MaxeyP

We have just returned from our second visit to the Hyatt Regency (first one was in 2004) and we were just as pleased with it the second time. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters who enjoyed the hotel as much as we did. We stayed for 7 nights and wish we had longer!!

The unique thing about the Hyatt is the very large pool area with the river leading off of it leading to fountains and jacuzzi - this means the hotel does not feel crowded. Even though the hotel was completely full when we were there it never felt too crowded and there were always plenty of sun loungers free.

The breakfast was very high standard and we were always seated outside (our preference) - plenty of room.

The rooms were very comfortable and each room has large balcony which is very relaxing and peaceful in the evenings overlooking the lush gardens.

The hotel runs a shuttle into Hua Hin (which has loads of places to eat) once an hour - this is our only criticisim - this should be more often as they were always full and the hotel did not clearly tell you that an overspill car was available - it will be though if you ask.

It is well worth walking along the beach to 'Let's Sea' a great place for lunch or dinner. Not everybody likes to try the horse riding but the horses were very safe and fairly cheap.

Make sure you take advantage of 'happy hour' which starts at 4.

We love this hotel and cannot wait to be able to go back there.

Hyatt Regency - Superb!

by TripAdvisor Member baronynine

Spent 10 days at the Hyatt Regency at then end of August and begining of September and had a fabulous time.

Stay in a Regency Club King Room which was spacious even though we only really used it for sleeping and showering. Staying in any Regency Room entitles you to complimentary breakfast and also drinks between 5pm-7pm.

The staff were efficient, courteous and very friendly. The restaurants were very good indeed serving a sselection of Thai and other Asian food as well as European. You have to try the fish (Snapper) & chips and the Yoo & Me Noodle Bar!

The pool are is huge and clean with pleant of loungers and towels. There is a dedicated kids pool complete with sandy beach. The hotel is on the beach and they have their own sun loungers in the sand.

The hotel grounds are immaculate and maintained on a daily basis. There are plenty of fruit trees around and the fruit is used by the hotel. The small bananas are so sweet. Also the tree all have name tags on them for us non botanists.

On the whole I cannot recommend this hotel enough

Lovely hotel

by TripAdvisor Member KristjanS

With a 2,5 hour drive from Bangkok to Hua Hin, after staying at the Bangkok Hyatt Erawan, Hyatt Regenct Hua Hin was a natural choice. Hotel had an excellent loaction, right on the beach front and about 5-10 min, drive from central Hua Hin. Set amidst beautifully manicured gardens, hotel looked very inviting. We stayed in Club Class here, so enjoyed a separate reception and pool area, away from the majority of guests.

Rooms were well appointed, although a touch on the small side. Nice, fresh decoration with a huge balcony and really comfy wicker chairs - perfect for relaxing in on an evening. However - upon check in we were offered a Club King room right next to a building site, which was unacceptable. The only solution we were offered was a room on the opposite side of the hotel, which meant that in order to use Club facilities, we had to traipse through the hotel for meals, pool access and so on.

Staff very helpful and courteous, charming open-walled reception area and lobby, which is where breakfast and cocktails were served. Free drinks and nibbles each evening from 17:00-19:00 was also a lovely touch. Lovely pool; both the smaller pool for Regency Club guests and the main hotel pool which was huge. Lots to do in terms of hotel activities both for couples, and families.

We ate most of our meals at the hotel's largest restaurant, Figs, which had great food and very friendly staff. Ordered Thai food from the You & Mee noodle bar tto eat by the pool, which was scrumptious every time. Didn't eat at their Thai restaurant, but from what I'd heard, it maintained a consistently high standard.

Housekeeping and laundry service were excellent, with discount on all laundry through platinum/gold passport membership. Prompt service, room was cleaned, towels restocked twice daily as well as turn down service in the evening.

A lovely place to stay which I can thoroughly recommend to others.

The best place to relax within easy reach of everything else!

by TripAdvisor Member Lrath

We stayed at the Hyatt for 3 weeks in October, our third visit in 18 months and it did not disappoint!

The rooms are a little on the small size but they have a large bathroom and are spotless. The hotel staff are all attentive, helpful and courteous. The main pool is massive, in fact 5 interlinking with a river running off it - unfortunately the current machine is broken but it is still a pleasure to travel around. The grounds are beautiful and extensive ensuring it never feels busy even when the hotel is full. There is also a very wide beach front, and it is deserted, so no sunbathing areas are ever overcrowded.

The only down side, as with any 5* hotel in Thailand, is that the food and drink cost far more than outside of the hotel. Though the food is very good if you feel like a 'night in'. There is no need to wait around for the shuttle bus as a tuk tuk or taxi can always be found on the small road outside of the hotel, or the main road at the top.

Being 5 minutes south of the centre of Hua Hin, the restaurant and bars are all within easy reach. Especially head for the area by the fishing pier for fresh seafood. Ask to be dropped by the Hilton, continue down that road and explore.

Go to the night market for bargains and don't be afraid to eat down there - my husband and I have never had a problem, even eating off the hand carts!

Alternatively 5 minutes south is Khoa Takiep - a must is the Happy Beer Garden (at the end of the strip on the right). There is no menu but Bjorn (a real character) will tell you what they have and order anything in for you. They do the best garlic bread and greatest steaks, all very cheaply, and great wine too!

It's also worth spending a day down at Khoa Takiep beach (the other side of Monkey mountain) - it's a small bay with lots of shelter if required - there are several beach shacks there which are great for spending the day with a drink and great food.

Enjoy, because we always do!!!!

Having never stayed in the Hyatt i cannot give you a review of rooms. I have lived in Hua Hin for 5 years and often visit the the pool garden at the Hyatt with my wife and daughter.

The Hyatt is a new hotel to Hua Hin - about 18 months old and is probably the best hotel here. The pool garden is superb, the best I have ever seen its worh staying here just for that - there is even a small man made private beach in the hotel ground for children.
Food is good but a bit pricey - but what do you expect in the Hyatt.
The hotel is about 5 km out of Hua Hin so you will have to rely on hotel transport, song thaws and Tuk - tuks to get into town for shopping and eating in town.

The road leading to Hyatt is very disapointing, many local wooden small houses. To get to and out you have to use taxi and Hyatt charges 300 bath to the centre of Hua Hin.

Yes, I have stayed there during Jun 2003, the place is very nice, the only issue there it is too remote to do anything other than stay in the hotel. Try the Thai Cooking class, it's quite fun
