Pranburi Information request.

by Sunny58

I have read that Pranburi is a little too far out of Hua Hin to stay but we like quieter places.Have been looking at a few resorts to stay such as Golden Pine (was AS Dream), Bacchus Home, Pattawai. Can anyone tell me if it is a good destination to stay or am I better to stay closer to Hua Hin. Maybe we could rent a car to look around. I appreciate anyone thoughts and infomation and Hotel recommendations.

If you like the peace and quiet of a small seaside hamlet, I'd strongly recommend Pranburi, but yes..it's a little far from Hua Hin. There's an Avis in Hua Hin town so renting a small car to get around isn't a problem. I stayed at Pattawia and it's an OK place if you're here in the low season...really quiet. Bacchus is a nice place closer to Pranburi town but abit dearer than Pattawia. There's also the Evason Resort next door to Pattawia, which is the priciest. I liked Pranburi for the quiet, but I felt the need to get to Hua Hin town once in a while, hence the handy rented car. Hope this helps.

Be brave and try the street food

by syllybabe about Chatchai

You feel the local energy more when you eat local food. Chatchai has seafood, fruit, noodles, and other delicacies that I wish I tried but didn't get a chance to because we had already eaten a big dinner (even if somewhat unsatisfying). In the pic you see candied cassava, grilled corn on the cob, corn with coconut, and candied sweet potato.

Night of food and shopping

by nomadig

Night markets are commonplace in Asia. If you are not familiar with the concept, consider a normal open-air market that has been moved to evening and night. The stalls open after dark and the market keep going strong to the wee hours.

Hua Hin's lively night market is running every night on Decha Nuchit Road, nearby the clock tower in the centre. There are hundreds of small stalls, selling food, memorabilia, local craft and a lot of fake products. The prices are low, but you can still try and bargain.

The food is excellent, just remember to check that also local people buy stuff from the vendor.

Wat in the hill

by yen_2

This is the Temple at a top of the hill that you can see for yourself up close by taking the very steep staircase..There were many locals climbing but never tried it...

The pic was taken in the other side of the hill..Impressive! From this hill you can see the other side which is the coastal view of Hua Hin..
