More about Sheraton Hua Hin Resort
Amazing
by TripAdvisor Member NowInNewYork
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa for a family gathering. The hotel staff but our 3 rooms altogether in Block 7. As we are Starwood Gold, we were upgraded to inward facing, second floor. The view of the pool and central greenery was so beautiful and refreshing! None of us had seen a pool so large which must be at least 700 meters through all its course. The rooms are the best decorated Sheraton we've stayed at with pleasant color schemes, very roomy, high ceilings, and a flat screen TV. Our only disappointment was that we only had only booked 2 nights. As others have mentioned, the staff is new and evidently hadn't encountered "Cash and Points". The rate is a lower Starwood points mount plus a cash amount. However, Starwood posted the rate on the confirmation including tax and service charge. The staff thought the Starwood rate should be used and tried to charge another tax and service charge on top of that. It was an honest mistake, and they seemed a bit embarassed at the error. We would definately stay again.
Loved the swimming pool

We have just returned from the Sheraton Hua Hin, and it was every thing you can expect from a Sheraton resort. 5* service.
The buffet breakfast was fantastic, the best I have ever experienced, super fresh fruit some that I had never seen before and therefore great to taste. Great freshly baked cakes and pasteries and every other kind of breakfast that you can only dream of.
Excellent kids club on site that my two children 5 and 3 years were keen to spend some time in each day - there was a different craft activity each day and the Thai girls that ran the club were fantastic and very kind and friendly with the children.
The pool was amazing as was the poolside bar and bar/resteraunt service. You do not need to leave your sun bed if you do not wish, the staff came round on a regular basis to check if you needed anything.
Great room, def big enough for the 4 of us, although cleaned daily the sheets were not changed until day 7 and the floor was not mopped until day 7.. these are my only complaints.
Would definately return.. the kids loved it too.
NOT DE-LUXE
by TripAdvisor Member gizwiz
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 weeks from 20th January 2008. It was supposed to be a de-luxe hotel, but the only things that were de-luxe were the prices in the bars and restaurants - a meal in the buffet restaurant (including a bottle of wine) £100, two small beers by the pool £10. Rooms were OK, but standard hotel rooms. Housekeeping left a great deal to be desired until you complained. The worst thing about this hotel was that they continually had functions (weddings for the most part) which took over the restaurants and pool areas for up to four days, this meant that over the period of the function either the front lawn where the
sunbeds were or any of the restaurants could be unavailable to regular guests. Very disappointed in general and could not recommend it.
Great new hotel for business conferences, just a few rough edges
by TripAdvisor Member SixContinents
Stayed three nights for a business conference with 100+ attendees. Overall a very productive and enjoyable stay. A few minor issues that should go away as the staff at this new property gain experience.
Pros: Breakfast buffet included in room rate and featured a wide selection of Thai and Western dishes. Lunch buffet equally varied and good.
Rooms well appointed with comfortable beds. Could swim right from the patio outside the room (not available from all rooms). A little unusual to have pool access and swimmers right outside your room and a unique hotel feature.
Service was prompt and friendly. Lots of friendly staff that made good efforts to resolve problems quickly. Language was occasionally a barrier but staff would find someone else if needed.
Well equipped conference center for 100-200 people with multiple meeting rooms and good facilities/catering.
In room wired Internet access was fast and reliable, a little on the expensive side at around $20/day. WiFi also available in the resort as part of same fee.
Cons: Location is a good 2.5 hours by car from Bangkok airport. Not that easy to reach and not roads I would personally want to rent a car and drive myself.
Fitness center is reasonably equipped with new cardio machines (treadmill, bikes, elliptical trainers) but weights are limited to a couple machines and some free weights. What looked to be an aerobics studio was being used for a ping pong table. Ask for directions--it is in an odd location
Hotel's Thai/Indian restaurant served good food but service was somewhat confused and disorganized, with entrees for people at the same table arriving up to 20 minutes apart or forgotten all together.
Overall this hotel can be a great choice for a business conference if you don't mind the drive to get there, and it looks like a very nice property for a leisure visit too.
Some great points but conferences/functions given lot of priority
by TripAdvisor Member dvdstv
I stayed here in end january/early february for 16 days for a winter vacation
There are many positive things to say about this hotel but I am inclined to agree with the previous reviewer that private functions/weddings/conferences rather takeover the property at times and too often. Over the three weekends i was present there was always some of that activity and the nature of the hotel meant it did tend to be disruptive. More on that later though and I'll start with the good points
THE GOOD
1 Design.
It is a beautiful hotel and the designer must take some credit . I understand its been used for fashion shoots and you can see why
Crowning feature is the Lagoon swimming pool. This is a superb pool but the lobby/reception area was also attractive
2 Lagoon access rooms.
These are great. Step off of your balcony and into the pool - now thats great !!
Tip #1 Rooms in building 1-4 have the sun so you can sunbath - which you could not in 5-8
Tip #2 If you are the kind who prefers sea/view access rooms I did not think they were as good as the lagoon access rooms ,as the former only let you onto the beach lawn
3 Food .
I thought was rather good . Clearly there are various skill sets in the Kitchen and i enjoyed the food. The Thai/Asian was my favorite and i liked the little cafe next to the spa. Not cheap mind you but Hua Hin has some fun places if you catch a cab.Try the Hua Hin brewery in the Hilton
4 Bars.
The main bar in the hotel was superb and the girls who worked in there were polite, charming and very smart.
Some really good bands there too - not the usual assault on "Hotel California" !! - and equally pleasant people
In addition the beach bar tended to be quiet in the evening and right on the sea front
5 Gym/Spa.
Again a good standard - the gym staff/trainers were all very helpful
NOT SO GOOD
1 The service could be erratic. Now I love Thailand - its just about my favorite destination but even I was beginning to get a bit fed up with some of the service. For example my wife does'nt eat meat and when we were presented with a sampler dish in the resteraunt no one could tell us what was in it. Plus at peak capacity it was difficult to get a table in breakfast and they were struggling to cope with even clearing tables
2 Limo transfer. Never appeared at the airport. We had to search out the Sheraton lady in the Airport who resolved it - but it still wasted 1 and 1/2 hours in the process
tip #3 The reception knew about the transfer- it had been confirmed by email - but the concierge did'nt. Phone in advance and ask to speak to the concierge to be sure as they arrange it
3 Conferences/weddings
I am sure you have stayed in hotels before where these have ocurred and not much worried about it. However I did think - as the other reviewer did - its a different matter here
The Hotel is horse shoe shaped and the lagoon /landscaped gardens take up most of the space. The main area to sunbath is the "beachlawn " at the part where the hotel meets the beach. Noone sunbathes on the beach
This beach lawn was closed for one day every one of the weekends while I was there for the various gatherings that took place [ car salesman convention and weddings ] You , as a regular guest , either get pushed to the side or , even worse, right at the lawn near the main reception if you want a lounger. The beach boys ,the afternoon before ,spend the time shifting all the loungers about and you get to watch the stage/tables/rigging etc being assembled by a large crew
One other example I saw was where I witnessed this chap and his wife sit down at the main resteraunt for dinner only to be moved as it was reserved for Wedding guests. The buffet that night had been set up for regular guests at the side next to the spa. I must say he took it better than I would have !
Ultimately Its you choice or not whether you think this is OK but I was a little annoyed - its still your holiday after all. Given its proximity to the airport and evident beauty I think it will be a favorite for the conference organiser
4 The Bill
When I checked in I was told I got 20% for food drink [ but not alcohol ! ] I checked my bill after about 8 days and they had not applied it. They did manually change it and assured me it would
be OK from then on. You've guessed it - it was'nt
Check your bill although they were quick to change it once they realised
So in summary I would'nt go back but those lagoon access rooms were good. If you do come here try to get one
Bon voyage !
Hua Hin

"Weekend Breaks from Bangkok"
Hua Hin is good for a weekend break from Bangkok, or, if you are spending time in Bangkok and want some R&R then Hua Hin makes a good destination. Hua Hin is also good if you want a beach near Bangkok or searching for beaches near Bangkok. The beach in Hua Hin is very long, the beach at Takiab is in my opinion the best beach in Hua hin and about the best beach near Bangkok.
"New Hotels in Hua Hin"
A great deal of new hotels in Hua Hin, the Aka Resort in the hills, the Putahracsa Hua Hin near the town center. Other new Hua hin hotels are the Seahorse Resort, the Sheraton Hua Hin opens sometime this year, The Napalai Resort hotel Hua Hin and also opening soon apparently the new Balivana Hua Hin which looks very nice. The Regent is now the Holiday Inn but this is in Cha Am which is just north of Hua hin.
