c;lean central budget accommodtion in hua hin and cha'am

by musaphir

hi

please suggest some clean and central accommodation in hua hin and cha'am. need not be anything fancy as long as it is reasonably clean and well located for intra town connectivity.

there was some talk of train service from suvaranabhumi to bkk downtown scheduled for completion last year ( 2007 ) but apparently delayed to this year. any developments on that.

alternatively what is budget transfer option from suvarnabhumi to hua hin.

thank you for the support in planning our trip.

From Bangkok Airport take a bus to get you to the south terminal in bangkok and then take the express bus, about every 40 minutes. The journey to Hua hin takes a little over 3 hours.
There are plenty of inexpensive places to stay in town, how cheap did you want it? You can find guesthouses with rooms from a few hundred baht per night. Fulay Guesthouse has fan rooms B 350-450. It is along the Fishing Pier street so right in the busy area of Hua Hin. Nice location, they have rooms over the sea also !

Travel Tips for Hua Hin

Fishing alone

by yen_2

In the other side of the bay in Khao Takiab, fishing are what most people do best. And most restaurants in HuaHin has fresh seafoods that to die for!

I've seen this scene in the top of the hill in the monastery run by the monks. And they were fishing! Some are just sailing... It's best to visit the Khao Takiab Hill.

Modern small mall

by nomadig about Sailom Pavilion

Most of the shops in Hua Hin tourist area are located in a shacklike premises. The new and modernly designed Sailom Pavilion is thus a fresh change for shopping. Elegantly made of wood, steel and glass, the minimall has charm to lure people inside to the shops.

The storerooms are not big, as there are more than a dozen of them in two floors. There are several Western-style eateries and cafés, and excellent ice cream parlour and a few stores selling books, bags and sporting equipment.

The inner patio is a good place to unwind a bit without buying something to eat or drink.

DEFINITELY best thai food

by Yammi123 about Supatra by the Sea

Supatra by the sea is at a nice setting near Khao Takiab. The restaurant is right at the beach and you can see the gold budda from the restaurant. Everything is cooked to perfection. 800B for a dish of prawn with garlic. Quite expensive, yes but well worth every baht. Best I've ever had. If budget is a concern, I'll save on all other meals to come here. everything is delicious. prawn with garlic, sizzling green curry, seafood salad, tom kar gai, mango with sticky rice, banana fritters, and coconut icecream. and some young coconuts. 2000B total for 3 people.

Thai Silk Factory

by M.E.R.V

Didn't fascinate me that much becos' I have seen this like 5 times already but I went along to get some extra knowledge in Adam's brain! Hahaha! If you want to know the story and orgins of the silk worm and perhaps splash some real bling-bling on genuine silk, you should get your ass here! You can check with your hotel if they offer free taxi rides there.

Up above in the hill

by yen_2

Viewing this very pretty blue skies by the bay is amazing! There are so much photo opportunities granting that you have your cameras with you!

I've seen locales paying a respect with the monks and the statues in there..
