Lovely place overlooking the river

This guesthouse is located on the banks of the river and on the road that goes to the Bridge over the River Kwai, not far from the Allied War Cemetery. The rooms are built along a garden courtyard that leads to a restaurant/bar that has a terrace that overlooks the river with seats and massage benches. My room had a large double-bed that was raised off the floor, small TV, table, a/c and a bathroom that was partly outside - the shower part but don't worry about this as it has high walls all around as well as a small garden. Staff are friendly but no-one was around when I checked-in so I had to shout to get someone's attention. My room cost 700B.

Most Unusual Bathroom

We stayed here for a few nights. The room was nice and clean with a glass wall. Behind this glass wall was a bunch of plants and such in a sort of well. The opening to this led in to the bathroom. The shower was open to this so you felt like you were outside. Well, because you are. It's pretty cool. But...critters can come in to the bathroom. We had a few Geckos come in. The place was very central, right along the road where all the guesthouses are, near the river but you can't see the river from the room. Get the Thai breakfast (rice soup) since the English/american breakfast was not so good, blah!

Unique Quality: The Bathroom. They can line you up with a cruise down the river. They pick you up from the train or bus station also.

Ploy Guesthouse: very nice rooms and garden

Hotel is relatively new in quiet location and good views over the river from cafe and resting area.

We stayed there 2 times in ground floor room with garden and outdoor shower. Room was good with really big bed (two mattresses on huge wooden podium) and was one of the best I have seen in guesthouses in Thailand. Room also had good A\C and TV.

Second time I booked through their website and it actually worked.

Cost of ground floor rooms is 700-850 baht depending on season (600 baht if you book with them on website more than 1 week in advance) and 600baht for 2-nd floor rooms.

American breakfast is included and rooms are serviced daily.

Unique Quality: Views, parking, small private garden in expensive rooms, quiet, stylish rooms.

Clean And Affordable Hotel

Really wish I could stay a little longer than just 10hours. This hotel is relatively new and well manage. The rooms are clean and simple. It comes with a huge toilet, maybe its too new but it would be good to have a shower curtain in the bathroom. There are 3 types of room, 500bt, 600bt and 700bt. For 700bt, it is similar to a small house with a nice little garden with TV.

Unique Quality: A view over looking the Kwai River with nice gardens and relaxing area.
