Pung-Waan Resort: The best view of the Burmese mountains at sunset

Set on a large area among the jungles of the Kanchanaburi province and near the Burmese border, the resort also incorporates part of the Kwai Yai river. The room in which I stayed opened with a serene view on the river and the jungles beyond, bordered at their end by the range of Burmese mountains quietly fading crimpson at sunset time.
This photo was taken from their web-site. This hotel is OK - more adequate than luxurious. It is also right on the banks of the river and has its own floating restaurant which casts off nightly.
It appears to be more frequented by the tour buses. Indeed, my initial impression was of faded elegance. However, I am just being picky, because the staff are lovely and the service excellent and the laundry is probably the best value I have had in Thailand.
In short - Felix would be my first choice, but I would have no hesitation in staying here again.
