River Kwai Village Hotel

River Kwai Village Hotel is a luxurious jungle resort, located at the River Kwai. There is a daily air-conditioned coach, bringing guests from their Bangkok Hotels to the River Kwai Village.

Unique Quality: The offer 4 kind of accomodation: one-storey cabins (Mountain Wing), raftel (floating in the river), 3-storey building (River Wing) and rooms in Thay Syle (Royal wing). We had our room on the raft and it was much more than we expected! Great room and great feeling on the raft. The hotel is a great place to stay for day trips to historical sights.

River Kwai Village Hotel

We didn't expect too much of this place so when we arrived we were pleasently surprised!!! The people were all very friendly and helpful, the 'resort' was huge with so much to see and do etc.

Unique Quality: They have two huge pools, lots of eating areas, friendly staff, lots of great tours on offer, air con/fridge/phone/TV/hair driers in the rooms.

Along the River

There are alot of inns, hotels in or around the City but the best way to enjoy the life along the river is to rent a place near the River. Most of the local tours caters a one night accomodation where it is along the river. A coconut hut where you can really enjoy the time having a bamboo rafting which is really very pretty to enjoy the afternoon. Anyway, of course if you'll be staying in this place, it will be very interesting!

Unique Quality: Along the river...and best to have a bamboo rafting during the afternoon to catch a sunset and just enjoy the natures..

Note: I haven't stayed this one but a friend had a nice time.

More about River Kwai Village Hotel

Jungle River Resort

by lisalu524 about River Kwai Village Hotel

I spent one night at the River Kwai Village Hotel with an event sponsored by the school I was teaching with. What an amazing and beautiful place! The rooms were huge and extremely comfortable. I stayed in the River Wing; my balcony overlooked the River Kwai. They do well with group events, as they did with our school. The food was excellent. And the best part was... I wasn't paying for it! Air-conditioned rooms.
Two swimming pools, in addition to the kids' pool.
Gorgeous gardens and walkways.
Every room has a view.
In-room mini bar.
Extra cots available.

We went through our travel agent to get our tour (it didn't include the tiger temple though) so I don't have the details sorry but I wanted to say that it is an awesome tour and well worth doing! :)

We actually organised the tiger temple part of our trip through the River Kwai Village Hotel (details on my Kanchanaburi page) and it was great! We just hired a car and they drove us there (about 30 minutes away) and we could stay as long as we weanted. It was AMAZING to pat the tigers!!!! :)

Good luck!

Just check out some of the hostels along the river; they all advertise day tours and it's just a matter of finding one with the itinerary and times you want. Prices are all about the same for similarly specced tours so just find the one that matches your needs. You don't need to be staying at the hostel to use their tour either.

Just catch the bus to Kanchanaburi and organise it when you get there is the cheapest and easiest I reckon.
