River-front accomodation at a good price!
This guest house is a great time for those traveling to Kanchanaburi. It is located right on the River Kwae, and the majority of the rooms are built right over the river on rafts. While some rooms had gaps in the floorboards which would seem to allow mosquitoes in, it didn't seem to be very buggy at all. The restaurant that is coupled with the guest house serves delicious Thai food, and great breakfasts!! It was a very pleasurable stay.
Unique Quality: The people who run Sam's are very friendly and helpful in finding treks, restaurants, transportation, and other traveler aid. Looking out over the river in the evening beautiful. You can even watch the bats emerge, flying low over the water as they skim the insects from the surface.

Kanchanaburi floating guesthouse
Located "in " the river Kwai.You'll find this charming place.
350 Baht/night with airco.
Hot and cold water shower.
Nice beds.
Airco provided.
Not very clean and a bit old accomodation.
There is a restaurant before you enter
Unique Quality: Great view on the river.

The most chill place.
Floating cabins right on the River Kwai. The rooms were clean, cute, no complaints at all. It only cost 300 BHT a night and we had air con and hot shower. The views were phenomenal - from our room and from the restaurant up top. The food was great and the service was awesome. It seems like a little out of the way, but it's close to the "downtown" and super close to the War Museum and Memorial.
I highly recommend this place.

Q: How Far? "Hi Does anyone know how far it is from Xanadu Resort to Erawan and Hell fire Pass? Also transport cost.Thanks a lot"
A: "Erawan N.P. is 32 miles from Xanadu Resort and Hellfire Pass museum is about 12 miles and is free. Can't find a price on the cost but it cant be very expensive."
