At the Rajabhat Institute: Thepthani

    • Reasonably priced (around 400 baht a night back then) and clean with A/C and hot water, this was easily the best deal in town. Nothing fancy but good value. There is a fridge and TV in the room too. Rooms have two single beds.
    There are cheaper places downtown - you can get rooms for 150 baht - but accomodations there are a little scummy and sometimes you have to put up with the sounds of sexual intercourse next door.

    It is at the teacher's college (Rajabhat Institute) that offers weekend classes for adults so on on weekend mornings you might hear announcements over loadspeakers.
    There is a restaurant downstairs that makes good food; unfortunately employees like to watch TV in the restaurant so you will have to endure it too. Not my top choice.

    Lop Buri Inn: An out of town alternative

    • This hotel is a little out of the way of the main sites of the Lop Buri town centre, though any bus that passes by the hotel can be taken to get one there. The bus ride costs a flat 5 baht per person and it takes approximately 10 minutes to get to the city centre (4km away).
    We opted for the deluxe room as the price was quite reasonable (1,200 baht), and we were staying only for a night. The room was spacious enough.

    We did not have any time to really make full use of the hotel's facility as we were out visiting historical sites. The only thing that stood out though, is that it did not have hot water for a nice bath after a cold day outside. Cost us to bear with each other's aroma for the night.

    • Air con room with bath ,fridge, TV , sitting area and telephone.
    Restaurant and conference room downstair.
    Room rate 300-500 B
    This hotel runs by the Rajabhat institute for training their student in hotel management.

    • This hotel offers nothing special for the price of about 700-800 baht for a room that is the same at the Thepthani above. NOT the same as the Lopbur Inn Resort.

    There aren't any.
    There is an overpriced restaurant next to the lobby that sells mediocre food.
    It is near the govt offices and far from anything tourists might find interesting.
    It is owned by a wealthy Chinese-Thai businessman who stages the monkey feasts every November.
