Pattaya to Bangkok..bus service

by KRPSingh

My flight from BKK to Singapore is at 0840 AM. Is there bus service at Pattaya by which I can go from PTY in the morning to catch the flight?

The earliest public bus from pattaya to BKK is 5:30 am. (then every 30 mins after that). The ticket price is 97 baht (not sure how much for foreigner). It takes about 2hrs and 20 mins to reach BKK. I think you will definitely miss your flight. Good luck.

You could spend the last night in Bangkok and have a shorter taxi ride to the airport in the morning. METER Taxi from the Sukhumvit area to the new airport will cost around 200 - 300 baht in the morning. Pay the meter charge only - don't bargain the price!

For international flights you have to be there around 2 hours early (or more) so that means at least 0640. Plan on a 25 minute to 45 minute ride to the airport by taxi in the morning.

Bus ride from Pattaya to the Ekamai bus station in Bangkok will cost around 120 baht.

All of my flights home from Bangkok leave real early. I spend the last night in Bangkok because I am afraid of getting stuck in traffic leaving Pattaya and missing my flight! Most of the Bangkok taxi drivers know how to avoid most traffic jams.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

Towering castle, intricately hand carved in teak

by JoelWillTravel

Situated on the seashore of Rachvate Cape, Pattaya. The Sanctuary Of Truth is an amazing structure, proudly showing ancient knowledge of Thai artists at present. Believe it or not this structure was only built as late as 1981. The parts emerging from it's foundation are ALL built of wood, to meet the intention of constructing the real "wooden sanctuary". It's a must to visit here when in or around Pattaya as the tour we had around this was truly breathtaking. Please see website for more information on this.

Speed Boat to Coral Island

by bkarjee

We hired this speed boat for taking us to the Coral Island and found it to be very fast mode of transport. It hardly took 30 mts to reach Coral Islands. But the weather was not in our favour and it started raining midway. The shelter within the speedboat was not good enough to take care of all its passengers. We were 4 adults and 2 kids and all of them were soaked blot with water. It was quite bumpy too, because of the rough sea.

SMALL HIDDEN TREASURES

by STRATOS79 about SMALL THAI RESTAURANTS

I have also been impressed by the small Thai restaurants that I have find in Pattaya I have to admit that I have found some small treasures (traditional food at its best) but most of them don’t even have an English menu

Buddha Hill

This is another impressive Buddhist statue of the Quan Yin who is an important deity of nuture, health, and fertility.

Even if you're not a believer, light an incense and pay respect to it. You will feel a pleasuring clarity of thought. I feel that way whenever I participate in small, intimate religious rituals such as this.

From Dusk Till Dawn

Pattaya lies 147 km southeast of Bangkok less than two hours from Suvarnabhumi airport. From a small village back in 1960 Pattaya first boomed during the Vietnam War and has been a popular tourist destination ever since Today pattaya attracts more than one million tourist from all over the world is famous for it’s nightlife but it has so much more to offer
