I have stayed here twice at convention type meetings.

The largest hotel in the world
I only eating in one of the numerous restaurant in this complex. Some say over 5000 rooms some say a little bit down. Almost 2 large buildings and different small buildings in the garden. Extremely large pools. Have a look of this gigantic complex. They say it have 5000 employees, if true, it's 3 times more like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, 5005 rooms.
Unique Quality: Large number of restaurants, gigantic pools, right on the beach.

Huge !!
Once I went to pattaya, plan to stay at Jomtien beach but couldn't find one coz it was long weekend in Thailand so I kept going further out, found this hotel..
Very big hotel, many tall buildings and very big pool in front close to beach.
Mainly Thais stay there but oversea tourists some I have seen.
Maybe as because it was very crowded by the time I got there so the service was not so good and the room I had, seem like the last one left ( old room, smell bad but good view ).
Unique Quality: Very big pool, Great View from room, enjoy all facilitis in hotel.. private beach..
The hotel situated very far from central Pattaya or even Jomtien beach. It's further out from Jomtien beach (public area) so it seems hard to get to all entertainment in Pattaya.

Any Hotel near Indoor Stadium, Pattaya?
Hi,some friends and I are going to Pattaya in Nov, 2010 to take part in a badminton tournament. The venue is the Indoor Athletics stadium on Chaiyapreuk 2 Road. We would prefer to stay in a hotel / guesthouse within walking distance of the stadium. Can anybody recommend one such hotel. Preferably cheap, clean and with good security.

The Organizers of the event have chosen Ambassador Hotel Pattaya for accommodating the over seas participants, and offering Free Transportation to/from the venue.
You can directly book this hotel, 700 Bhat (USD22.00)its a good hotel with large pool and beach view and not very far from the stadium, or you can find other hotels in surroundings of Jomtien Beach area which is no more then 15 minutes walk away.

Thank you for Explorer's reply. I know about the official hotel and the free bus service but their given rates are B1200, B1500 and B1800 and Not B700 as mentioned by Explorer. Can you confirm the rate of B700? I have 40-60 people in my group. What I worry about is that their bus service may not be efficient and may result in long waits and no-shows.
May I ask What is the approximate distance from Ambassador Hotel to the Stadium? From the Google Maps, it looks like 3-4 km.
Again, I would prefer a hotel / guesthouse near the Stadium. Please help!

The Area around the stadium is newly developed and I am not aware of any hotel/serviced apartment near.
The Ambassador Hotel is also at Jomtien Beach beach area and may not be able to offer the room for all 60 peoples in your group,if you search for the hotel you can find so many budget hotels for 500 to 700 Bhat for 2 person. Having a large group of people will require you to book your hotel advance or book rooms in 2 or 3 different hotels near by each other.
3 or 4 kilometer is not so far away, if you go walk it wont take more then 5 to 10 minutes

I have managed, through friends, to contact a few hotels / guesthouses just outside but opposite the stadium. However, I have yet to confirm my booking with the hotels concerned.
I believe l have got the problem almost solved.
