Are there planty of hotel rooms available?

by Strad

I am planning to hit Pattaya right after the New Year. Two regular hotels (around 1250bht/night) I normally stay have been fully booked. Should I be worrying not finding accomodations?

Will someone suggest any hotel rooms available around mid-Pattaya Road area?

Thanks a lot!

You can try this place:
HONEY INN, on Soi Honey Inn. Soi Honey Inn is between Soi Buakhaw and Pattaya 2nd Road. Honey Inn just went through a recent overhaul and looks pretty good.

Here is two email addresses for the BAY BREEZE HOTEL also on Soi Honey Inn, close to the Pattaya 2nd Road end. You can email them and see if there is a vacancy. I stay here pretty often during the summer when the rates are down around 500 baht.
Email addresses: baybreeze30@hotmail.com or baybreeze20@hotmail.com.

On Soi Buakhaw you can try this place the WINNERINN HOTEL (Internet Cafe too!) Their email address is: winner_inn@hotmail.com.

The above emails addresses were good last year. I would get what you can and then look around for something different after a day or so. Lots of places on Soi Buakhaw and Soi Honey Inn to look at. Several Sawasdee Hotels in Pattaya, two of them on Soi Honey Inn. As you already know that any hotel over 400 baht has A/C and private toilet/shower. Above hotels are guest friendly too.

Good luck.

Around 1000 bahts just go on soi 13, half a dozen good hotel, Dynasty Inn, ma Masion, The haven, Lek new wing, Inn House, AA hotel. A good hotel on beach road with large pool on roof J house near royal garden Plaza. With over 500 places to sleep actually Pattaya offer more rooms than tourist in any seasons.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

WAT CHAIMONGKRON

by RoyJava

Right in the centre of Pattaya there is the WAT CHAIMONGKRON. It is a beautiful Buddhist temple (temple=wat) and at the same time a monastery where monks do live and take care of the temple. Most of the tourists have seen this place, not thinking over to enter. It is free entrance!

Just take your time to see all of the parts, images and some beautiful details. The coloured demons, the Buddha statues, the main hall with the golden Buddha image, the near-temples with the breath-taking tile-roofs ...

Do you want to please the monks, of the Buddha? So buy yourself a little present and offer it as a gift. Probably your gift will go into a bucket to get bought, to offer it again by a next devotee or visitor. I prefered leavin' some Bahts in front of the Buddha image ... ;o)))

Bangkok Airport to Pattaya

by BorneoGrrl

Once you land in Bangkok, you can go to Pattaya from the airport on the bus for under USD10. No hassle. The ticket counter is right beside all the counters in the arrival hall. The coach will stop in the middle of Pattaya town and you can go to your hotel in a taxi or tuk-tuk

EDIBLE BIRD-NEST SOUP

by RoyJava about *N A M * S I N G*

Nam Sing is a Chinese restaurant you can find in the Second Road. Their speciality is sea-food and, a lot of Chinese come here. That is a good sign and indeed, we had such a wonderful diner. The lobster was an exquisite dream like the ocean-delicacy snacks. Inside is AC with fine interior decoration. When you want to smoke a cigarette, you have to go outside on the terrace. Mr. Nam Sing himself came for a nice greet and allowed me to take some photographs of the "edible bird-nests", produced by the legendary swallow bird. That is their speciality and delicacy here ... That was a totally pleasant surprise. To see the edible bird-nests on the menu! Especially because these swallows I study, together with the legends about the Javanese Southern Ocean Goddess (see link). And these edible bird-nests usually are very expensive (it can be up to 9000 TBT for one bird nest!), and guess what? In the Nam Sing a soup made of these edible bird-nests is only 200 TBT! Surprisingly the soup is a sweet tasing one and, a delicious on for sure. I had my Edible Bird-nest Soup!!!SUPERTRUPER!

tiger zoo

by IrishPaddy

we got a nice air con taxi for the day to take us the hr drive here, stop frequently for beers, wait 3 hours and drive us back for a mere 800B for us 3, but wit tip as he nice gave him 1000B (20 euro) which he delighted about as he said his monthly salary about 2500B. its about 3 euro in to the zoo and then itsa variety of shows with tigers, elehants etc, can take elaphant fide, i fed a baby tiger cub wit bottle which was a plus of the hol,for 100B incl a polaroid, also held a baby croc (BABY being 3 ft long) and got covered by scorpions...... the tiger tunnel was semi glass one thru a tiger area, pretty cool tho. felt the place was a bit unfair to animals but leaast fed themk etc and was funny to see a tiger cub being reared in cots with piglets

Villa Holiday and Self catering in Pattaya

by gregnlisa

"Private Pool Villa Holiday Pattaya"

We visit Pattaya frequently and have stayed at many of the hotels in Pattaya in the last 5 years we have opted to try self catering Villa holidays yes the daily rate can be higher, but the food savings and convenience seems to far outweigh the costs
Our last two visits November 2008 and March April 2009 we chose to stay at Jomtien Beach and found an Ideally located private rental with its own pool

heres our review

we would like you to add our personal review of your accommodation for anyone thinking of staying in the future

REVIEW Joy's Villas "LOTUS" in the Grand Condo Complex Jomtien Beach Pattaya

We found it clean safe and quiet, the villa is set back from the main road and traffic noise was not an issue, the access to the beach if required, is a very pleasant, tranquil walk taking just a few minutes.

You can walk directly onto the beach from the secure complex or stroll as we did each evening along the beach access road or walkway, and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

(noting through the day the beach road has no vehicle admittance so strolling thru the day presents no problems either)
We found the complex friendly with many Thai and European owners who greeted us warmly at all times,we often stopped for a chat with locals as we strolled.

If you would rather spend your day lazing around the pool area its nicely set up with a very comfortable undercover alfresco area with overhead fans for those who like a bit of shade

and of course various hot spots around the pool to soak up the rays if you desire

The villa access road is adequately screened from the pool area using quite dense shrubbery and palms, adding a tranquil outlook

The pool is a good size ornament-ally appealing and deep enough to cool parts, some of the pools here in Pattaya seem to miss.

Its also very attractive when lit of an evening often making it hard to resist a dip in the balmy tropical climate

We found the villa it self very comfortable it has a large open plan design, incorporating lounge, breakfast bar, kitchen dining setting
The kitchen works if you want to cook your own meals, with a gas hob, microwave and a full set of various other cooking devices from hotpots to elect BBQ ,Its adequately set up to self cater as we did.

(the good news is that there is a 24hour supermarket just 5 minutes walk away to stock your fridge or food cupboards, its reasonably priced with many western foods and wines beers available)

There's an ATM also outside the store, adding to this the main baht bus route is right outside the main gate making access to the nightlife a breeze or a day trip shopping ,its all very, very convenient.late night return journeys are standard prices

The lounge area is very comfortable and overlooks the pool with its large screen TV, DVD player etc and loads of channels to skip thru there's always something of interest to watch

The whole villa is fully air conditioned though we enjoyed simply having all of the french style doors open and made good use of the high speed ceiling fans

3 double bedrooms two with on-suites, though in total three toilets and shower rooms are available, hot water was available at all times,

The house ventilates very well as usually daily a gentle cooling breeze is whisping its way through the complex, this is very welcome.

With free wireless Internet access and for us most importantly spotless accommodation, (maids visit twice weekly) noting the pool is cleaned and chemically balanced on a regular service basis,

All of this left us with no doubts to return again ,dealing with the owners joy and reg was a total delight warm friendly and honest, their staff are helpfull and happy and also well worth a recommendation
overall we rate the accommodation and operators 5 Star
we have now booked to return in 2010
