Para sailing and the beaches in Pattaya

by whitebobo

Hello

I want to go parasailing in Pattaya when I am in Thailand in June.

Can someone give me a recommendation of a company who does this?
What is the price of parasailing?
How do you organise it?

What are the beaches like in Pattaya? I saw pics and they look a bit steep. My girlfriend loves the beach but I do not feel like making a trip to Phuket and Phiphi. Is it worth 2 days in Pattaya for the beach?

Thanks!

Pattaya beach is not nice, Jomtien to the south is nicer. There are plenty of opportunities for parasailing.

John

This is a link to my Pattaya page. http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/1e4db/161f12/

Look at the tips there to see more about the beach. I would sit on the beach, but not go in the water. Too much polution, glass and jellyfish. You could stay at Jomtien and ride the taxi to go parasailing.

Parasailing is all you can see as you look out into the water in Pattaya. You will have no trouble finding it.

You will found nicest beaches on Wong Amat, just before Pattaya city and Jomtien, but on the islands like Koh larn you will have really nice sands and beaches, only 15 minutes with speed boat, about 2000-3000 bahts or 50 minutes with standard boat, about 150 bahts 2 ways and transfer.

Hi,all

The intense but usually brief downpours between June and October make this low season for tourists (and breeding season for mosquitoes). Rarely, though, does it rain all day or night. Temperatures fluctuate in the low 30s during the day; and between 25-27degrees Celsius at night. Still a good time to come as the bars and beaches are less crowded, hotel rates lower and there’s still lots of tenacious sunshine.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

Songkhran

by JohnandSuzie

This event is over a few days in april the hotest and dryest month.......it is normally over a few days but once in Pattaya a few years ago it went on for 2 weeks........
Basically the whole country erupts into big water fights............you will wherever you are get wet in doors or outside...........don't bother changing into dry clothes you will just get wet again even battles rage while driving down the road and accident rates go up.
Its mad but fun and if you think it will annoy you after a while then miss this time of year or stay in your hotel room.................thats exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopf - Microbrewery

by prozgen

german microbrewery. they ve got promotions on the early hours - at 5 pm when they open where u buy a liter and get your second liter for free. they also do have some good food to go along. check out the sauteed chicken with dried chilli & cashew nuts. its extremely fattening but what the hell when u r on vacation ;-)

they have a band performing nightly after 9 pm. this is a non-smoking bar/restaurant and they do not have seats outside. so if u wanna smoke, u got to do it at the entrance. anything goes.

Lunch by Beach

by Wann about On the beach

I always enjoy lunch on beach as everywhere they offer beach chair to sit and always offer a memu of variety kind of food. We sometimes enjoy seafood or even just drink, relax, enjoy scene of beach. I think the price is also reasonable.

the tower, nice beach

by IrishPaddy

about a 50B (1 euro) ride away is jomtein beach, word warning ie dont expect much out of the beach side AGED water park. there is a 600ft tower which u can get a cable car up to, and if you afriad of heights i recommend against it.
u can get leap of top (terrifying) strapped to a cable and sail down for a few cent, but its not for faint hearted as cars look like ants from this height and i dunno if tower meets safety regulations!!!!
the beach is nice, ko lan off about 3 miles, and u can relax with a beer for a euro under straw umberellas tho ppl haunt u to rent over priced jet ski's and buy stuff eg got a genuine croc skin wallet for less than 8 euro.

The Bottle Museum

by Wann

Before I left Pattaya, I visited the Bottle Museum... very surprise for me, the work on many size of the bottles. If you getting bored to hang around on beach, this will be a good place to visit. Inside the area they present the history itself. various kind of glass bottle containing elaborately crafted creations, including the usual vessels. All are the works of the Dutch master Peter Bedelais.

Open daily from 10.a.m. until 10 p.m.
