A peaceful oasis

After a very hot mornings flight and drive from Samui this place was like an Oasis to come to.
The big feature for me at this place was the massive pool shaped like a river running around the hotel complex.
The pool has a sunken bar, surrounded by deckchairs and a lush garden.
The room was very large and comfortable with Air con, cable TV and a big bed although it was a long walk from reception.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was o.k..
There is no problem here with visitors which is a bonus.

Unique Quality: Definitly the river-like pool with the sunken bar and garden was the major feature.
A very relaxing place to sit and drink in a poolside sun-lounge.

Best value

We found this fantastic resort after visiting about 10 others in the area...I was impressed with the large lagoon type pool and the rooms which all overlooked it...it's surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens...the staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was fantastic for it's buffet breakfast which was included in the price of 1156 Baht...the meals and drinks were quite cheap which is unusual for a resort of this standard.

Green Park Resort..any good?

by austarman

I'm staying at the Green park resort early in January and I was wondering if anyone could recommend it or not.
Whats it like and how convieniant is it to the shops and nightlife etc??
Are they ok if you have a guest or not?

The Green Park Resort, if I remember right, is near the road to Naklua. Naklua is at the Northern end of the Pattaya bar scene. Walking Street is the Southern end of the strip. I have never used this hotel, it's out of my favorite stomping (or crawling) grounds.

I always stay in the more central area off Pattaya Second Road, not far from Mike Mall if you have a map. Pattaya 2nd Rd. runs parallel to the Beach Road. In this more central area you can walk to many places (malls, street vendors, bars, restaurants, etc.) Beach Road runs south one way and Pattaya 2nd Rd. runs north one way.

The hotels I stay in are in the 400 baht to 700 baht range, even hotels in this range includes Air, Hot Water, Safety Box, TV and Private Toilet/Shower, etc. Some have a pool too. I am not sure how much they quoted you for your room, January is still in high season for pricing.

The Lek Hotel on Pattaya 2nd Rd. is centrally located. They have a good "all you can eat" buffet (open to walk-ins too) Google them up, there may be a map showing this more central area.

I usually stay in the Bay Breeze (no star) hotel on Soi Honey Inn. This hotel is around 600/700 baht during high season, they have a pool too. The e-mail address for the Bay Breeze is baybreeze20@hotmail.com or baybreeze30@hotmail.com.

Another hotel on Soi Honey Inn is the Intown Holiday Hotel, with pool, just down from the Bay Breeze. These two hotels are "guest friendly" and do not charge anything extra for guests. I find that the less expensive hotels are more likely to not charge for "guests." The Areca Hotel on Soi Diana is a not too old, they are within this central area. Google up the Areca also.

There are plenty of bars in Pattaya. Even though you are at the far end of Pattaya the local baht bus transportation is pretty cheap (10 baht for Farangs.) If you want to check out your Green Hotel just sign up for a couple nights and check out some of the other available places .

I have stayed there and it is ok , 100 baht to take lady back .It is about a 5 minute walk off the main road which can be a bit of a pain but it is quiet and some great food in restaurants right opposite . they look dodgy but the food is great and costs virtually nothing .
Green Park is cheap but good value.
