Baby Clothing Pattaya

by nish2027

Hello there,

Am there for a few days in the next month and was wondering where one might procure clothing for a new born. Also can anyone suggest any store where I can get die cast cars - Matchbox (which are manufactured in Thailand). I've heard of Toys R Us. Any other stores that can be recommended

Thanks for the time taken to read this

When you go to Pattaya you are NOT entering a wilderness with few shopping choices available! Pattaya has many modern malls for you to shop at. There are street vendors and flea markets too! You can find baby clothing pretty easy.

Where in Pattaya will you stay? There is Pattaya City, this is where most of the nightlife is at, where you have many malls available and where you also have the cheap 10 baht transportation. Then there is Jomtien, south of Pattaya City, fewer options for mall shopping but you have a beach where you can actually swim in the water if you want. Naklua area is north of Pattaya City. There are a few hotels that have beaches for swimming at. Most of the better variety of shopping is in Pattaya City.

Second photo in this link is Toyr R Us.

Maybe if you post on this travel forum you can get some addresses for places that sell die cast cars.

Good luck.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

Early In The Mornin'

by RoyJava

Going for a walk, along the Pattaya Beach Boulevard, in the Walking Street, knocking about this busy street, or slowly crossing some shoppings-malls ... we all love it on holiday, far away from home town. We do it all day long, on and on ... do we? Sometimes I love taking a walk early in the morning. Watching the throw-aways from the night before. Like these stairs, empty for now ... but early in the evening until late at night filled with those beautiful young Go-go girls, moving, dancing, giggling, and above all things ... shouting at you to enter their paradise. Remember
Pattaya is paradise on earth

by mamasan69 about BAMBOO BAR

After exploring the walking street and also many others near it, we usually ended up at this bar until it closed. The bar is actually not right on the Walking Street itself, but just to the left of the main sign of the road. It was my first real taste of the stories I have heard from other people, old men with younger Thai ladies. Even though I have seen it in other places in Thailand, here in this bar even I felt very young...haha.
The bar was quite busy on the night we visited, and after you get used to seeing the "D.O.M", it was not too bad at all. The bar has plenty of seating while you watch the live bands, and the service/staff were good to us.
The activity that made us laugh the most was the dance styles of some of these men, it was very entertaining to say the least. Some guys wouldn't move too much at all, other "viagra induced men" would make up for it however.
The band played a mix of western and Thai music, and this kept the crowd moving in between the DJ tunes.
We had a fun time here even though I don't like seeing the old man-young girl stuff too much. If I come back to Pattaya I still might stop by for a drink or two again though, it wasn't that bad. No dress code that I noticed, but here the most popular was the slacks, shirt, and dress shoes for the guys (just kidding).
No really, what ever you feel comfortable in is good for this bar.

The worst japanese restaurant in Pattaya

by lrusername about Kabuto Yakiniko Japanese Restaurant

The restaurant decor is very nice. The food doesn't taste that good. We ordered seaweed salad and it taste very salty and they mix it with something else that is not seaweed, for the price you should get pure seaweed. The salmon kimchi soup we ordered is unbeliveably salty and has just 3 small pieces of salmon which looked like the parts that they might want to throw away in the garbage if nobody order, they where just corners with lots of skin. The sirloin and pork we ordered for bbq was too small for 250 baht each and doesn't taste good, it was dry. The orange juice is just some kind of orange syrub mix with water. The total for this dinner is 850 baht include 75 baht service charge and we are still hungry and not satisfied. Summary: We won't come back again!

If you want to eat Japanese food don't go there. There are many other choices, like Fuji or drive to sriracha to the japanese area close to Robinson Mall. This Kabuto restaurant doesn't even have sushi and most of the food here looks like Korean food. For a price of 850 baht for two with no alcohol, I would expect more than this! Only the steamed rice was good.

Tigers & Pigs!

by johnaalex

The Si Racha Tiger Zoo about a 40 minute drive from Pattaya is worth a visit if you want to see some live tigers, crocodiles and elephants at close range. Whereas it may not live up to some of the “western” zoos they must be doing something right judging my the number of tigers they have bred there. It is here that they perfected the process by which tiger cubs are suckled by pigs, rather than their mothers.

They do have animal shows, but I got there early and left within a couple of hours having seen what I wanted to before the day got too hot. I have never been a great fan of Thai animal shows.

There also have a large number of crocodiles there!

Mini Siam ( Siam and World )

by Wann

Siam is an old name of Thailand, the place is located on Highway No. 3, not so far from Pattaya city. There are some mini important places display both in Thailand and in the world, some samples such as The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Democracy Monument, Bridge over the River Kwai, Prasat Hin Phimai etc and some in miniworld area such as The Tower Bridge, Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and Trevi Fountain. It is open daily from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. ( more photos at travelogue )
