July is one of the wettest months, but it will also be hot. July is one of the low season months because of the rain, but you benefit from lower prices in hotels.

Regards

John

July is indeed one of the wettest months.
But rainy season doesn't mean that it rains all day!
Beginning of july 2004 we were in Phuket : some days it rained fo about 10 minutes (and it dried up even faster due to the high temperatures), other days we've had rainshowers that lasted over an hour and were so intence that you could't get outside.
The weather is indeed very unpredictable, but you can be sure it will be hot!

July maybe in the rainy season but it is not the peak of the rainy season, that is Sept/Oct.

As mentioned, even during the season it only rains on and off which, can in fact, be very refreshing. Plenty of people come to Thailand in July.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

Galleries All Over!

by RoyJava

It is world-wide well-known that the Thais have been artisticly influenced by many sources. And Thai painting traditions were mostly confined to religious art, of a high quality. Slowly some artists delighted in breaking Thai social codes and means of expression. The most important artists are frequently exhibited and collected outside of Thailand.

A lot of artists earn their money in the commercial branch of painting. You'll find a lot of galleries all over, even exposing the same paintings. It is big business to create a fake Monet, Van Gogh or Renoir. Anything you want can be painted. Think a copy is something else as an imitation. What is worse? Take it ... or leave it!

Hundreds of Bars

by ratherton about Hundreds of Bars

This is were all the action takes place at night in Pattaya City. Off the beach road and several small streets: Soi 1, Soi 2 etc.

There are countless bars in these side streets, some have pool tables, in others you can play games like Connect 4 against the girls working behind the bar. By the way, if they ever make Connect 4 an olympic sport, Thailand will win the gold.

Prostitution is rife in these streets - I'd never seen anything like it before and it's certainly not subtle. If you are offended by this, just stay away from the streets at night.

However, if you are female and want a holiday without any unwanted attention from males - it's probably ideal.

Don't forget your bug spray

by Ike_2005 about Street Food

Before you ask, I didn't eat any of this street vendors delicacies. They sell an assortment of bugs. I watched this girl eat the giant waterbug in the picture. It was pretty disgusting to say the least. I would rather starve than eat that, and I damn sure would not pay for one. NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Elephant Village

by trevndebs

Highly recommend this trip which can be booked from anywhere and costs 450 Baht including minibus transport.
It lasts about 1.5 hours and you get to learn about how they worked in the forests.
Best of all, you can ride on the elephants, either on their backs or on a seat for the not so agile!

Mini Siam

by victorwkf

This is a large miniature collection of famous sites of Thailand as well as other famous places around the world such as Effel Tower. It is a good place to admire the skilled handicrafts of these maniature masterpieces.
