pattaya to ko samet

by RobbieGee

Hi thinking of getting transfer direct from bankgok airport to pattaya or jomtien, does anyone know the distant time cost from the above to ko samet. Only going for a week so don't want to spend too much time travelling.

Its approx about 1 1/2 hrs to BAN PHE from Pattaya you can get a boat across from about 6 in the morning to about 5 in the afternoon even if you were to get a taxi from Pattaya it shouldn,t cost you more than 1000 baht or cheaper recommend if you want to stop off on the way (it is literally on the way)for breakfast or lunch try the "Camel" bar in Banchang about an hours drive from Pattaya and ask for Ron say Big Bob sent you............regards and enjoy Rob P.

Depending on the time you arrive in BKK there are buses that go to Pattaya direct from the airport.

If you are in town already, a VIP bus to Pattaya costs only around 120 baht. Ekamai bus station is right on a Skytrain stop for convenience.

Travel Tips for Pattaya

Visit Coral Island (Koh Lan)

by victorwkf

Visit Coral Island (Koh Lan) when you are in Pattaya. This island offers a relaxing getaway with water sports such as para-sailing, snorkelling etc. There are even some shops on the island which sells all kinds of stuff. The sea breeze is extremely pleasant during December when the weather is cool.

By bus is very cheap

From Bangkok, you can travel to Pattaya by bus. You can go to the bus eastern terminal at Ekkamai. You can travel there by BTS Sukhumvit line and get off at Ekkamai Station. You will found the bus terminal there.
The bus fare for Pattaya is Baht 90 (US$2.25) and the bus left the station every 30 minutes and more frequent in the weekends. It takes around 2 hours for travelling.
You can do the same to return to Bangkok, just call the taxi in Pattaya to bus terminal and bus fare is the same.

Steak with Mushroom Sauce

by filipdebont about Patrick's belgain Restaurant

I already told you that this is a fine restaurant with several delicious dishes.
But I also like to come here for the atmosphere and to talk to the owner Patrick.
Boxing is also part of his life; one wall in his restaurant is covered with photos and newspaper articles of his career. Another hobby is the skydiving. So if you want to know more on these items this is the place to be. You can also read more on this on his beautiful website.
There is always a list with the results of the Belgian football on the wall.

For me this a good place to eat or just to sit and have a beer. Steak with mushroom sauce

The visit to 55th floor of Pattaya Park Tower you can see the panaroma view of the beaches, city etc.

Going up to the observation deck will take only 1 min with the elevator or you might use the cable car which included in the fee of visiting observation deck.

Beach life with full entertainment!

by nadesiko

"Fun! Fun! Fun!"

Nice city for nightlife fun. But aside from that, you can also enjoy the laidback beach life without getting bored. You can find fun stuff to do in every corner, and just 30minutes away you can enjoy the calm, relaxing atmosphere of Koh Lahn or Coral Island, a nice get away from the crazy Pattaya life. Lot of stuff to do, name it, you got it! Enjoyed a conversation with the girls in "Right Spot" and the girls in the jacuzzi show..he! he! (I'm not a lesbian though). You can rent a motorbike for just 150baht a day and explore the city, or jump into their local transpo, the "tuktuk". Foods and accomodations are cheap as well. If you want more peaceful environment, Jomtien beach is just 10 minutes away.

"Coral Island"

30 minutes away by ferry boat from Pattaya is koh lahn. Enjoy the nice blue water, away from polluted pattay beach.
