Baan Dok Mai: Best guest house in Pattaya

I stayed here towards the end of February 2009 after searching hard to find somewhere that was good but inexpensive - not easy!! Tha Baan Dok Mai was a great find. It is very clean, very friendly and the rooms are extremely comfortable and modern. It is also very well located so it is close to everywhere. The more expensive superior rooms are only 1015 baht in high season so why stay elsewhere at double the cost or more ? Well recommended.

It is located in a soi just behind Tuk.com which is an ideal place to experience soi life and to observe the highly skilled artisan workshops that abound in the area.

Huge bookshop with exchange scheme and a huge free DVD library to all guests, rooms have DVD players.

VC Hotel: Close To Walking Street

Only stayed here for one night during the very busy Pattaya Music festival. The room was large and clean with breakfast. The receptionist gave us a room on the higher floors because she said rooms on the lower floors sometimes gets noisy.Very small pool and a fitness room.Popular with Middle Eastern men.
Good for single guys

Cheap, big clean room, very central close to the night life, pool, fitness room.

Beachview Hotel: Across From the Beach

Beachview Hotel is in a good location right across the road from the beach. The room was clean , close to a mini mart and the restauant in front of the hotel offers a good buffet breakfast until late.Walked in with no reservations and got a nice corner room with a huge tree outside and a balcony that over-looked the pool. The swimming pool is abit small and needed a clean.Real cheap at 650 baht a night.
The hotel has now been renovated.

The corner rooms are nice ,close to beach ,transportation, shops.

The Cottage: Bungalow Style

The Cottage is located in North Pattaya next to Central Festival Center.Just walk across Pattaya 2nd Rd and you have all the beer bars.Nearby are Big C supermarket, restaurants, beer garden ,cinamas, street market shops and about 5 mins walk to the beach.
The best ones are set up around the two swimming pool in a nice garden .A big plus here is sitting on the varanda and not seeing any big high-rise buildings .The room are comfortable and clean .The pool area is very relaxed with many sunbeds.
Good budget place.

Big bunglows with large dressing room and bathroom. Two pools, lots of trees.Close to shops and Big C supermarket if your staying for awhile.

Prima Mansion: Poor hotel in bad location

One night was enough. Apart from the construction work creating a lot of dust, lots of comings and goings during the night. Full review at http://www.littlewhiteswan.com/Accom/az08/0803.html

Seems to be used by a lot of prostitutes, but for the price they charge it's hard to complain.
