Blissful solitude: white sands, blue water
by GautamBhimani
White sands and blue water. Not to mention not a soul around. That too an hour by speedboat from bustling Pattaya Beach in Thailand. Most boatmen will take you straight to Coral Island, another commercial haven for the Thai tourist Industry. This particular island, alittle farther away offers no water sports like para sailing or water scooters but is heaven to get away to.
We stayed at the Siam Bay View Hotel and this idyllic getaway was recommended by the folks in the sales office (who had nothing to gain but our godwill)
Ko Sak was the name of the island. Some boatmen will be reluctant to go but a little persuasion is all it takes.
Pictures are attached. Do try it. It's heaven. It was a first look at the sea for my three-year old, and he refused to leave the beach! We spent the whole day on the island (in busy tourist season mind you!) and we were all alone!
Rent a Motorcycle Honda Wave!
by JanetChan
I rented a motorcycle at Pattaya for only 150-200baht ( for Auto Bike it is easier and hence more expensive ) for one whole day!! The vendor would filled up the petrol for you and when back, just top up the petrol back to them. As easy as that :)
Honda Wave is a motorcycle that is very easy to control. The way it works is just like an electric bicycle.. I love hoping on it and riding it anywhere around Pattaya. Its so convenient that i can park it anywhere, stop and shop and hop on it again...hehe
The traffic in Pattaya is not too bad. So i wont think it is actually dangerous to ride a bike there. To rent a Motorcycle, you need a driving licence, deposit and the hotel address. Just as easy as that.
But gotta check the motorcycle before you accept it as you will have to pay for any damages to the Bike... the vendor that rented it to me is somewhere near the beaches and i dont have any problem with him as renting a Motorcycle in Pattaya is common :)
Baja Mexican in Pattaya
by Travel2write about TEQUILA REEF
Clean and friendly restraunt that will take you south of the border. Authentic Mexican food so far away from Mexico. I enjoyed the food so much, and if you want anything, just ask. Extra salsa or sour cream or anything, they were all customer service oriented. free chips and salsa while you wait for your dinner. Fajita's were awsome and my bro really liked like the Burritos! MMMMmmmmmm!
And they have those Corona beers!
Underwater World Pattaya
by trevndebs
Just past the Tesco Lotus on Sukhumvitt Road is the Underwater World Pattaya which we thought was well worth a look.
Cost was only 320 Baht and was a good distraction for a couple of hours out of the sun.
They have feeding times posted outside and it's worth taking a position early in the tunnels if you want to get some photos as the diver feeds the sharks and big rays.
This was not a tour we saw mentioned at the travel agents, we just passed it on the road and went back for a look.
Pattaya, Thailand
by georeiser
Pattaya is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, aprox 165 km southeast of Bangkok (120 km by road from Suvarnabhumi Airport). The population is more than 300000 inhabitans. The city is known for beeing the craziest city in Thailand with bars and massage parlours all over the city centre.
Pattaya Beach is situated alongside the city centre. The water close to the beach is polluted, but the beach has a lot to offer if you get bored. Small bars, beach sellers, massage stalls, and watersport activities like bananaboat, parachutes, jet-skis and speedboats.
.
Jomtien beach is not far from the centre of Pattaya. The area is more quiet than the city centre, but still noisy enough to scare away turists looking for a calm holiday.
